Lobob Optimum Cleaning Disinfecting and Storage Solution, 4 Oz

My optometrist recommended this since my usual B&L Simplus soaking solution didn't seem to be doing the job. The Lobob is an older product, but works much better!! My lenses are staying cleaner for longer. It's a little foamy when rubbing the lenses, but that's the cleaner working! Just be sure to rinse well after cleaning to make sure there's no solution left on the lenses that can cause stinging -- yes, I found out the hard way :) Great stuff, will be ordering more!!

So my eye-doctor told me about lens insertion solution but neglected to inform me that I needed a storage solution also and so I had gone over 2 months without using one. My contacts started to develop white smudges in the center (protein buildup?) that refused to be rinsed or rubbed off. The smudges seemed to make my eyes a lot more sensitive to light. Though my vision itself was clear enough there was a sense of a smear that couldn't be wiped away. Anyway I did some research (googled) and found that a storage/cleaning solution might solve my problem. I bought the Lobob solution and let my contacts soak for a good 8 hours. When I checked on the contacts afterwards they were in pristine condition, all smudges and any cloudiness completely gone. So that was a huge relief and I plan to stock up on more of this product. 5 stars.

I've worn rigid gas perm lenses for over 25 years, and have worn contact lenses for over 40 years.This is the best cleaning/storing solution I have ever used. It was recommended by my optician when I was having trouble with the Boston line of lens products...gritty feel, shorter wearing times, aware of having a lens in my eye. I attributed it to aging and the length of time I've worn lenses.Not so. Since I changed to the Lobob solutions, I find that the comfort of my lenses is as good as it was when I was younger. I wear my contacts daily and normally wear them for 15 or more hours a day. I use both the cleaning solution and the wetting solution. Yes, my eyes get tired faster, but so does the rest of me! And I have "graduated" to bifocal contacts. But I can wear my lenses for the full day, which I was no longer able to do using other lens care products. Thank you, Lobob!

I’ve worn RGP contact lenses for over 20 years and have always had problems with my lenses clouding up with deposits no matter what I cleaning solution I used. This stuff is outstanding. No clouding up, only clear comfortable lenses for 18-20 hours a day!!

If you wear hard gas permeable contacts, I would recommend this – no grit / dirt feel on your eyeball, and you can wear them a little longer than normal and they appear to be much cleaner. After receiving a free sample from my wife’s doctor we seem to go through this stuff like it’s going out of style – it works well for her hard contacts, and the pricing here is a little cheaper than my local store; combined with free Prime shipping and purchasing it here on Amazon is a no-brainer. Compared to other brands of cleaning solution for her contacts, this is one of the better ones and has the fewest complaints concerning gritty feel as well as cleaning.

I was having a terrible time with my gas-permeables when I was using the Boston brand of cleaners or the various store brand knockoffs. I'd carefully clean and soak the contacts according to directions, but they'd cloud up and become un-usable within moments of being put into my eyes. Thought it was just old contacts, replaced them (expensive, I wear torics) and the new pair had the exact same problem. Desperately googled for solutions, found a reference to this product, figured it was worth a try. Am happy to report this keeps my contacts clean and comfortable with no clouding. Use the multi-product (the one I'm reviewing here) daily, occasionally give it an extra cleaning with their deep cleaning solution.

Was using Clear Care for my RGP lenses. I have severe allergies and ended up with a build up on my lenses the that required me to buy new contacts after 8 years even though my prescription was the same. After realizing it was my allergies that caused me to have to buy new $500 lenses I did a bunch of research and found the Lobob line of contact care. Amazon reviews were promising for what I needed and I have been using my "new" pair of RGP contacts for 2.5 years with Lobob care and alaway allergy eye drops. This reminds me of the old Boston line I used 25 years ago when I first started wearing contacts. Love this brand!

I bought these based on the reviews, but I'd recommend that users switch back and forth between this solution and the standard Lobob ESC cleaner. When I was only using this CDS solution for weeks, my eyes started to get irritated. The preservatives can cause inflammation in some people like me. The standard ESC cleaner is best for routine use, with this CDS for occasional deep cleaning. The other option is to get the enzyme tablets, but they are getting harder to find.

Sorry but I think this is so good I pre-empted the review - I would be gutted if this was no longer available in this country - should be more widely available - Every optician should stock it !

This is by far the best cleaning solution - if your rigid lenses mist over within minutes of putting them in, then this is the answer. Highly recommended.
