Burton Durable, Expandable Wheelie Flight Deck Travel/Luggage Bag, Carry-On Size, Laptop Compartment

Purchased this for a ski trip just last month (JAN 2019) and I can't recommend this product. I've used Burton luggage for a long time and their quality control and design for this carry-on roller board has really declined. I've used the previous generation of the Wheelie Flight Deck which held a little more while fitting easily in and out of the overhead carry on space in a Boeing 737, Airbus A319, or Airbus A320, which are the planes I fly on 90% of the time. These are not small planes, but the out carry handles of the Flight Deck get caught going in and coming out. After one leg, all 4 rivets popped off that held the wrap that goes around the handles. The zipper also had a half kink along the side that got hung up. I contact Burton customer service and it took them 4 days to respond via email and just issued a RMA after I sent detailed high resolution photos of the handles falling apart. I explained that this was unusable and I no longer desired the bag, but they would not offer anything in exchange, so I just informed them that I would just return it to Amazon - no response after that. In the past, I've had items replaced without question, or exchanged for something else, but Burton seemed to just want to get be off their back as soon as possible.Back to the product - 1 star for me. It's a good looking roller bag, rolls well on the skateboard wheels, and the interior separation of the two halves is nice, but smaller than I anticipated. The hassle of trying to get this thing in and out of overhead space is a non-starter, and the bag should be redesigned. The one from 4-5 years ago was awesome, and they should bring back a similar design.

Loved that I got a great deal through amazon open box! This is sturdy and I love the cram lining! I'm using it as my kit bag as a freelance makeup artist and it's working great for me so far. I already took it on a flight, and since I had lots of liquids and creams it was a checked bag. Since I packed everything is tightly and wrapped more fragile things in towels, everything in my kit survived unbroken through the baggage handling process which is a big plus!

This is my second Burton suitcase. The durability is evident, after traveling to 10+ different countries over the past decade. It keeps it's functionality and new appearance. I know it's been thrown pretty hard, but it looks new and untouched. I am a Burton convert now. The material quality is better than those used by other manufacturers. The extendable handle is convenient for placing smaller bags and rolling them all together, leaving a free hand for managing tickets and passport control papers, etc.

Edit - the bottom of the bag is not well reinforced. If you put a laptop bag on the top, the bottom front of the bag collapses and the and falls over in the airport bathroom, the gutter outside of the ride share. The bag is narrow so if you have a laptop it becomes unsteady. Broken within a year. The telescoping handle is stuck in the extended position. I mentioned this in my RMA request. I was asked for a picture of the problem. Warranty returns is not clear nor is it responsive. I submitted all the information I was asked for and sent a follow-up email but haven't heard back. Majorly annoyed.

Great luggage. A little bit bigger than your average carryon but I haven’t had any issues yet. Only complaint is the handles appeared to be make of leather, no sure what they are made of but it’s definitely not leather.

Such a cute travel bag that is the perfect carry-on! I love the separate zippered compartments inside and makes it so easy to organize and stuff the items you need. It also makes it super easy if you need to get to something in your bag without everything falling out, since its all zippered in nothing will fall out if you have to open up your bag and there's even on smaller compartment in the top that is accessible from outside the bag as well. It is very durable and of good quality, and I love the pattern! Perfect for a weekend trip or even a longer trip if you don't want to check a bag.

I had a previous version of this bag that I loved made in 2010 that was getting a bit rough so I purchased this to replace it. Second time I used it the button broke off the front strap handle somewhere in transit. The strap handles are a poor design choice in the first place as they have limited utility and create more chances for the bag to get caught up in belts/rollers/etc in going through baggage systems. Very disappointed.

Love these suitcases. I’m a little bummed that after one use the front facing black buttons are scratched to now expose the silver metal beneath. It was only hauled to and from a car and one-night hotel so I’m not sure why it got messed up already. My other pieces by burton have survived multiple overseas travels with no wear and tear. Oh well. It’s just a bag and I love them anyway.

I love this suitcase! It fits way more than it looks like and helps prevent me from really over packing. I’m very happy with it and would reccommed it.
