After one day of use...
Writing this review after one day of use. Firstly, the case is big. If you've never had one of these before, you're probably thinking "Yeah I know that," but seriously - it's BIG. I truly underestimated just how large it was based solely on pictures and even YouTube videos. After lugging it around all day (which really wasn't a huge deal for me but of course everyone I know had to comment on the GameBoy that is now my phone), I don't mind it but I have realized its sheer size will pose problems, such as fitting it into pants pockets and using phone holders in vehicles - two every day uses. So that being said, it's very likely that it won't end up as my every day phone case. Some other drawbacks are the auxiliary input (you have to purchase a slim 3.5mm adapter), the fit of the inner plastic case around the phone (it doesn't lock as it should; you have to use the outer cover to ensure it stays in place), and the heat it generates when charging, which leads me to believe that charging your phone somewhat frequently may be a better idea than letting it drain, though I was always under the impression that battery life is prolonged the less it's charged, so take what you will from that piece of advice. It's not all bad though obviously, as it definitely serves its purpose and does what I need it to do. Not to mention, I'm sure it could do some real damage if I ever needed to defend myself in a life-threatening situation. All in all, I know it will be a big help on flights or camping trips or any other scenario where I'm without a charger for a long period of time, but if I could do it all over again I would've gotten a slimmer, less powerful case. This one seems to be more for gamers and folks that use their phones for hours on end every day. This misses out on a 5-star rating from me just for the simple fact that, although extremely helpful, it's just too bulky in a time where phones are getting slimmer and their accessories as well as clothes, car interiors, etc. are designed accordingly. Part of me feels that's unfair for subtracting a star because I should've known what I was getting into, but I can't stress enough how shocked I was at how much size and weight this added to my phone. And to supplement that, the whole heating up problem when charging more than justifies my rating I would think. Perhaps in the near future, having this much power on tap can be achieved in a smaller package without the same heat issue.

It's an amazing addition if you need your phone and aren't near the mains power during the day
I had a previous version of this where they had a coupler between the battery and the phone and the newer one. Both were basically the same but losing that coupler was a problem more than once.Anyway, onto the new one.It gives me about 4-5 full charges of my Note 8. After about a year of heavy use (I charge my phone throughout the day using it and use my phone A LOT) it starts to degrade. I found part of the problem was connector oxidation so I used Deoxit spray to clean it up. Charging will significantly slow down and my phone will say 4+ hours to charge, this really helped for a while. It's starting to do it again but it could be the phone for all I know.Fast charge is inconsistent to the phone as a pass through charge. No idea why. Maybe the case siphoning off power to charge at the same time is at fault? My car charger rarely provides fast charging even though it has Qualcomm's Quickcharge 3.0 tech in it (this phone is 2.0 I believe, still 100% compatible). USB cables supposedly play a role and I'm sure super cheap, thin, garbage cables aren't capable of handling the current demands a 19v whatever amp charge there is for fast charging but my cables aren't cheap garbage. Both are Anker made braided nylon cables. Seems fine with a wall charger for the most part but I'm never in a hurry when charging this way. I'm at home, usually charging while I sleep.I wish it was cheaper, at $60 it's a bit steep but you get a crazy amount of battery. It is very heavy so if you're a woman and don't have real pockets you'll want to pass on this (unless you have a purse to put it in, still heavy though). It's big. I've got big hands, and you know what they say about big hands? Small phones give you cramps. And the Note 8 is cramp inducing. This battery case is not, but it does hurt to hold one handed in some configuartions.Overall, if you work a job like I do where sitting down to charge for any length of time isn't an option that often you'll LOVE this. When I was a maintenence tech at Tesla I needed my phone ready all day every day AND I was running around often. This was a life saver. Too bad the company was too cheap to realize it was a valuable add on and wouldn't pay for it or my phone bill.

Both my Note 8 cases worked day 1. My note 9 cases, 1 worked and 1 didn't.
Update:As the title suggests, I'm 3/1 for Success and Failures with this case. Might buy another for a family member, but soo far soo good.Edit: Not including the little issue with the plastic inner shell of the case. Besides that the case actually good. Fast charging still works with the case on. Even if I press the button to charge it from the case instead. Not bad, went through like 3 different manufacturers including Mophie, and those were all ass. This one may be big and bulky but, it actually protects the phone and changes it. I'm good with that. Will give it 5 stars later down the line, hopefully I don't drop it as much.We starting off not to good. Plastic shell. Didn't really fit the phone as if it was a used or refurbished product. Could of swore I was charged a Brand new price of $64.99 I will give it a week. Going to update this later if any other problems show up.
