I use it for baking
I follow the directions on the cannister for adding to bread recipes. It works perfectly and adds extra nutrition. The flavor of the soya powder is excellent, but I really can't taste it in the finished bread. It also helps the bread stay fresh a little longer. The bread browns more readily with this soya powder, so I turn the baking temperature down to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. I store the soya powder in the freezer. Once I open a cannister, I transfer the powder to a zip lock freezer bag and then place that one inside another zip lock bag, and make sure all the air is squeezed out of both. I was using it straight from the cannister and about eight months in I noticed a really off flavor. So I guess it should be used within six months of opening when stored in the freezer. It has a lot of fat and it will degrade once opened.I love this product and I hope they never stop making it! I will be a life-long user.

Interesting Taste
We were looking for Soy Milk that we can makeup for use on vacations since we often cannot purchase it where we go. We were expecting to get 1 can of this powdered version and got 3, much to our surprise, for the same price. It turns out it comes in sets of three. When we made it up for drinking, we found it has a grainy material in it that does not dissolve. The taste otherwise was OK. But we didn't like the grainyness. So I got a reusable coffee filter and started filtering the grainyness out of it. That works. We can now use it on cereals and in mush on our trips. At home we prefer the liquid version we buy in cartons.

Great vegan milk substitute
Works great as a 1 cup-to-1 cup milk substitute in baking (quick breads with baking powder), pancakes, etc. Occasionally I get an under-cooked tin, or one with grit; 99% of the time it is the nutty roasted soybean flavor (although I believe the process of making this powder involves pressure cooking the soybeans). Lots of protein too, along with fiber and complex carbs.

Manufacture Date is Important in Buying Full Fat Soy Powder
I purchased this product from a different seller (GoodsandMore) and received canisters that had a manufacture code of December 8, 2017 on the bottom of the containers. Since I received these on August 15, 2019, that means the product was 1 year and 8 months old. As the soy manufacturers' website, soyfoods.org, states: "Kept in an airtight container, defatted and low-fat soy flour will stay fresh for up to one year. Full-fat soy flour will keep for up to one year in an airtight container in the freezer." Fearns Soy Powder is a full fat product and I doubt the sellers keep their product inventory frozen. Insist on knowing the manufacture date before ordering or be prepared for a stomach ache, burping, and flatulence from the rancid oil. Fresh Fearns Soy Powder has a delicious, slightly sweet and nutty flavor. This order did not.

fine powder. I am still learning how to use ...
I wish I could have bought just one (I only needed a little for some recipes) but this is a very clean, fine powder. I am still learning how to use it without getting lumps (again, for the recipes above) but I have more than enough to keep trying! :)

Protein source
I use this as one of my sources of vegetarian protein by adding it to the bean sauce I put on salad.

A good product at a fair price.
Its a good product at a fair price. I use it on my morning cereal.Understanding the expiration date, however, is not so obvious. I contacted them through their site and they responded quickly with the following information.Fearn Soya Powder is coded with a packaging date, which is read asfollows: 15A06. The first two numbers "15" stand for the year20(15) and the "A" stands for the month (January). "A" is the firstletter of the alphabet, which stands for the first month of theyear, or January. The last two numbers "06" stand for the day ofthe month. Therefore, the code 15A06 stands for January 6, 2015 andrepresents the date of packaging.Fearn Soya Powder has a shelf life of two years unopened andapproximately six to nine months after opening if stored in a cooldry place.Based on the above, the items i received have sufficient shelf life.
