Warmth Without Weight
When I saw these mittens had Thinsulate, I decided to try them. I had gloves years ago when Thinsulate was new, and they worked well. I wanted convertible mittens because I sometimes use electronic devices while walking or bicycling, and these are perfect. They are not bulky; they kept my fingers toasty warm in the subzero temperatures. I chose the hunter orange as an extra touch of visibility when walking on dark mornings. The magnetic buttons work well to secure the mitten covers when not in use. They are strong enough to retain the covers, yet not too strong so as to stress the fabric. The size runs true. I have large hands, and XL fits perfectly with these mittens.

Great lightweight convertible. Warm and convenient; but not suitable for extremes.
Love the convertible feature. Very handy for converting from warm mittens to having the dexterity too use keys, electronic touch devices, latches, etcetera.Wonderful for freezing and slightly below if there's not high winds or if it's not too wet.Great gloves; but definitely not suitable for wet or cold weather motorcycling/snowmobiling or Arctic conditions. In high winds there is a slight draft. They seem suitable down to about 15° Fahrenheit as long as it isn't wet, there isn't high winds and there isn't extended exposure.Gloves don't seem to be made for hard physical work with the hands. Light duty. Yet well made. Excellent for walking the dog, waiting for a bus, walking to the store, etcetera.Love the high visibility orange for better safety on the streets, remote regions and hunting seasons.

Perfect gloves for winter photography
These gloves/mittens are perfect for keeping your hands warm, and giving you the ability to use your fingers for dexterity. I'm a photographer, and need to be able to use fingertips to make changes to camera settings and controls. With these gloves, you can quickly pull back the cover, operate the camera and then slip the cover back on. These are much warmer than an older pair of Manzella fleece gloves I had in the past, and when the temperature really drops down, placing a hand warmer into the pouch in the cover guarantees your fingers will stay warm and flexible.

Few minor flaws, but decent for the money
I like the concept, the quality, and the warmth. Only two issues are that it is extremely hard to get the gloves off, and that with the hand warmer pocket they are hard to get the mitt portion over your fingers. All in all, not a bad glomitt for the money. When you get them, try taking them on and off a few times before you remove the tags, you might be annoyed.
