Review: Lots of Diagrams - I bought this book for my flat pattern drafting class at the community college. The book is very informative with a lot of good pictures and diagrams. The text is sometimes lacking, but you can follow the pictures. Note, the text and pictures sometimes go down the page and sometimes go across the page; make sure you're reading in them in the correct direction. This book teaches pattern manipulation but it doesn't teach fitting. It is definitely geared towards someone going into the industry, as opposed to a home sewer. Also, the pictures of pattern pieces are probably pattern pieces in a pattern size of 6 or so. In other words, they're pictures of skinny models.
