This one will catch you off guard. When I first started reading this I wasn't sure if I would or could continue. Not because of the writing, because that is spectacular, but because in just a few short pages this story goes really dark! And then I was 2/3rds of the way through before I knew it.The story and the characters just draw you in. And the twist in the end leaves you saying how the he!! did I miss this?If you love dark, suspenseful, steamy, twisted and absolutely unbridled imagination when it comes to an author's ability to put pen to paper you will love this one!

Those two working together really is a dream and it shows in this story. This was a definite five star book from the very first page. They both do dark very well so this was quite disturbing and I devoured every second of it. Unfortunately, this is another one of those stories that I can’t say too terribly much about for fear of spoilers.Jade has been through unimaginable trauma and abuse that lasted for years. She has spent a large part of her life in fear, but she is determined to stop the man who tortured her. Her childhood dream of being in the police force was only enhanced when she escapes him. It has been eight years since she got away from the man with the dolls. Benny. She is determined to find him and get back what she left behind. All I care about is finding them Finding her. I may have always wanted to be in the police force, but after him, after leaving her, I had to be.The people closest to her don’t understand her obsession. They feel it’s unhealthy and even get irritated over it. She feels like he is making her crazy, but at the same time she is very sure of herself. I love that about Jade. She does find support in her partner, Dillon. I really like him by the way. He sexy, funny, a bit of a smart ass, and a huge unexpected support for her. Normally he’d be busting my balls, trying to rile me up, but something changed after this afternoon in the coffee shop. We became partners. Two people dedicated to solve an important case together. An unstoppable duo. Friends?There are things happening that make her question her sanity as well as make her fear Benny has come back for her. As she tries to find him and work through her personal emotional struggles, she is also building a relationship with Dillion. She finally has someone to lean on, but still, Benny is always in the forefront of her thoughts. My body tenses as it follows her finger. At the end sits a boy porcelain doll. Messy brown hair. Overalls. A sad frown on his face. I know this doll. Benny. She continues to speak, but I’m frozen in place, in the sweltering heat of the flea market once again.I have not begun the next book yet because I didn’t want it to taint my original thoughts, but I bet it will be even more demented than this one, and believe there is some messed up stuff in this book. I can’t think of a character I didn’t enjoy reading and the twists are always the best. If you are familiar with dark reads and enjoy them, you will love this. It’s a creepy and beautiful book and I am so excited for more Benny.Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick.So she phoned for the doctor to be quick, quick, quick.The doctor came with his bag and hat,And he knocked at the door with a rat-a-tat-tat.He looked at the dolly and shook his head,And he said, “Miss Polly, put her straight to bed!”He wrote on a paper for a pill, pill, pill,“I’ll be back in the morning, yes I will, will, will."

Ker Dukey and K Webster are my dark, edgy, taboo romance dream team and the Pretty little Dolls series is truly some of their finest work. The rich complexity, the moral ambiguity, the jaw dropping depravity, the unsettling impact of trauma and the resilience of the human spirit. It’s the perfect nexus of emotional storytelling, psychological thriller, and horror. The kind of story that you can’t believe you’re so consumed and invested by because it’s just so horrific, yet you can’t look away.This series centers around Jade, the long term captive of the sadistic and creepy dollmaker Benny. After years of torture and assault at his hands alongside her sister, she escapes her monster. But her escape does not come without a heavy cost- and not just to herself, but to her left behind sister. Now a brassy detective, her path crosses with the perverse dollmaker yet again, and she’s never given up her search for her dearest sister, now Benny’s twisted doll.But this story isn’t just Jade’s- and that’s what makes it so interesting. We also have her love interest, the devoted alpha cop Dillon, and we even get inside the head of the psychopathic Benny, who even gets his own story. It’s a nail biter- a dark and twisted page turner. So many twists and horrifying shocks! (and LOTS OF TRIGGERS!) But like these author’s work, there are layers of meaning. Beneath the jaw dropping psychological thrill, this is also a story about the resilience of the human spirit despite the most shattering traumas, and a complicated study of nature and nature - and an unflinching look at the untapped darkness within us all.

Why I haven’t read this book before now is beyond me. This story consumed me. I wanted to read this book in one sitting and I almost did as I knew I was going to have a restless sleep because of the content…. and I was correct. To be honest, I don’t think finishing this first book would have made any difference because of that ending!!!! I desperately need to read the next book, and I am so thankful that I can download it straight away!Pretty Stolen Dolls is one of those WOW reads. It is certainly not for the faint hearted and I say that because I know that I can be affected by what I read….. and I was. There are some graphic scenes that almost made me put my kindle down BUT I couldn’t, because I was already addicted and also desperate to know how this story concluded. The emotions that this story is bringing out in me are compulsive, and my heart rate won’t go back to normal until I know that all is well….. if that even happens!This dark, gripping, twisted and suspenseful story messed with my mind. I suspected everyone at some point to be involved in what was happening and I am sitting here stunned at recent revelations. What an incredible story!!Pretty Stolen Dolls is a must read for those who enjoy crime thrillers. I have to say that Ker Dukey and K Webster wrote this book brilliantly. Now please excuse me whilst I go and purchase Pretty Lost Dolls and get back to reading the story that I am eager to finish.

Taken by a monster at a young age sisters Jade and Macy suffer at a madman hands. Jade escapes and it is her narrating their harrowing story with flashbacks to her time as bennys toy. A very dark foreboding story with a lot of dark chapters but also some parts that leave you hoping for a happy end,but things take a more sinister turn which makes you wonder how it ends. Really enjoyed the book and have already purchased the next part with some trepidation,fantastic if you can cope with a storyline about this subject but if you are fainthearted it's not for you. Many potential triggers but definitely worth 5 stars

Wow! This is definitely a five star read for me. What a wild ride. It had me gripped from the very first page and I did not want to put it down and even took it with me to read whilst doing housework just so I could finish it.This book can be enjoyed time and time again. It is amazingly intense and the author prepares you for the journey for you to take alongside the characters really well. The characters and story development were perfectly done. This book was extremley well written and has fast become of my favourite books. I will definitely want to one click future releases from this author. This book was full of different emotions with many twists and turns in the book that will keep you guessing what is going to happen till the very end.I could not wait to get to the end so I devoured it in one sitting. Incredible work!!The storyline was done really well and was believable. It kept me gripped from the very start until the end, so much so I took the book everywhere with me in order to finish it. I adore this book and cannot wait to read the next in the series as well as other work from this amazing author. I will definitely be recommending this author to everyone I know.Words just cannot express how amazing this book is!!!

OMG!! Words can not describes how amazing this book is. I'm a person who loves to read and has read around 900 books on my kindle over the past couple of years, and I can safely say this book (and it's sequel) are definitely in my top 10 books for all time. I won't say anything at all about the plotline to keep it 100% spoiler free, but I will say that the book will completely consume you and rob you of all sleep. You'll be hooked from the very beginning and once you've finished reading you'll be wondering when you are going to read it again. The writing is amazing, to the level that you genuinely feel you are watching the whole thing play out in front of you and just can't wait to see what happens next.All I can say is your reading life is not complete until you read this book!

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to ride the Ker Dukey / K Webster train. This book was so messed up it completely screwed with your mind. Absolutely fantastic, it was sick, dark, twisted and suspenseful with a solid helping of horror and gore. This book had everything thrown at it.This book is covers the taboo topics of kidnapping, rape, serial killings, physical and psychological abuse. If you are not a lover of dark and twisted move on, this book isn't for you. For me, it was addictive, a real page turner. I spent most of my time reading this book holding my breath... Benny gave me the creeps. Is it wrong to be intrigued by him...?Told mainly from a first person POV, the book was fast paced. It really was a thrill seeker's paradise. All of the characters held my attention... My heart even went out to some characters. And as for Dillion... wow that guy was hot. Delicious!I cannot praise this book highly enough. 5 dark and twisted stars!
