I enjoyed reading many of the poems. Most of the work is short, simple, yet hauntingly beautiful and I felt myself really connecting with some of the poems. The reason I am knocking down one star is because although many of the poetry was powerful and evocative, there were a few poems in there that kind of made me scratch my head and wonder how I went from one lovely poem on one page then turn the page to read something such as: "He makes me blush! He makes me want to brush and floss!" Girl, I hope he doesn't have a nasty mouth to make you want to clean your own. In all seriousness though, it just felt like the author did not put as much thought into some poems that they lacked the same depth and maturity as the others. Some of these shallow poems did have potential though. Don't get me wrong, I was still able to very much enjoy this book. The thoughtful, well written poems make this book worth the buy!
