## Description

A tortured fairy and a vampire warrior unite to stop evil in this paranormal romance by the New York Times –bestselling author of Taken by Darkness . The Sylvermyst have a reputation as sinister cousins to the fey, and none are more mysterious than Ariyal and his tribe. To save his people from banishment, he sold himself to the evil Morgana. Finally free, he faces a new challenge: Jaelyn, an elite vampire warrior sent to capture him. By rights, he should kill her on sight. Yet he cannot bring himself to hurt her—or to resist her... Jaelyn is stunningly beautiful, utterly lethal—and always alone. Until Ariyal. From their first encounter, she knows that what's between them is more dangerous than simple lust. And as they unite to thwart a terrifying prophecy that will mean the end of his clan and of the world they know, she will risk everything to fulfill her destiny by his side . . . Praise for Alexandra Ivy “ Beyond the Darkness kept me riveted! The Guardians of Eternity series is highly addictive.” —Larissa Ione, New York Times bestselling author “Ivy always packs her books with buckets of action, emotion and sexy sizzle. Another winner!” — Romantic Times on Devoured by Darkness

Review: Ms. Ivy does it again! - Oh but I do love my Guardians of Eternity. Being the series reader that I am this one is a must because of it's addictive nature and charmingly entertaining cast of characters. Short and sweet: I love the chemistry between this couple. The women heroines in this series usually are strong female leads but Jaelyn takes the prize. She is strong in both will and physicality and lets nothing stand in her way...not even her strong attraction for the sexy Sylvermyst Prince, Ariyal. After all her latest agreement with the Oracles is to stay close to him so she's just doing her job really...yeah. In true GoE fashion we go on a merry chase. This time it's to track down the baby vessel before the Dark Prince breaks out of his prison behind the veil and take possession of the child bringing death and destruction to this side. Along the way there are Immortal Ones, mages, spirits, curs, vampires, werewolves, oracles, demons, ogres, zombies, trolls, rogue Sylvermysts and a tiny gargoyle who all join in the melee of the battle of good vs. evil. Wonderfully sexy, with snarky humor and kick ass magical fun to be had by all!
Review: Romance Thriller Packed with Suspense - A throughly enjoyable link in the "Guardians of Eternity" chain of books. Good as a stand alone novel too. Synopsis: Ariyal is the Prince of the Sylvermyst. (Think supersized elves on steroids.) Centuries ago, he convinced his people to break away from serving the Prince of Darkness, but they paid a terrible price of enslavement to Morgana who tortured them and murdered their mates. Now freed, Ariyal is determined to stop the Dark Prince from entering our world and save his Sylvermyst at any cost, including killing an innocent baby that Jaelyn protects. Jaelyn is a Hunter vampire. She is described by Ariyal as "A beautiful, lethal predator in spandex who had managed to kick-start his lust into hyper drive and reminded him in vivid detail the pleasure of being a fully functioning male." She is charged with capturing Ariyal for the Oracles, but is shocked when he turns the tables and manages to take her hostage to the mysterious Avalon. Hunters have been trained to ignore their hearts, desires and emotions. But Jaelyn finds herself tumbling for the big Sylvermyst Prince who proposes she join forces with him to track down his missing kinsmen. Together, they track down the rogue Sylvermyst who are under the control of a spirit intent on the destruction of the world, battle the newly resurrected Dark Prince, and help join together natural enemies the Vampires and the Werewolves to save the planet. What I like: I love the chemistry between Jaelyn and Ariyal. They naturally fell together and both seemed to embrace with inevitability and joy that they would be `mated'. I love the strong female characters that Ivy creates. Jaelyn is the baddest of the Hunters and doesn't have to rely on the hero to save her tush. She isn't afraid to face death, and gives everything she does her best effort. She has nightmares about people she was forced to kill, and people she wasn't able to help, and when she decides she loves Ariyal, knowing she will face certain death for leaving the Hunters, she does so with such magnificent dignity and honor that made me want to shout YES! In eager anticipation of this book I re-read all 7 books in this "Guardians of Eternity" series. They were even better the 2nd time around or actually the 10th time around for book "Embrace the Darkness" which is still my all around favorite paranormal romance book. Alexandra Ivy also has a cool web site that details her books and the assortment of upcoming novelettes about the "Guardians" characters. I heartily recommend Ivy for action packed vampire and werewolf romance literature.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another good one
*by J***Z on December 21, 2013*

This story, to me, and several things all at once that I like about this genre of book. There's enough action to keep those interested in that entertained and enough character development and emotion to keep that set of readers entertained as well. I won't bore you with a plot summary as I know other reviewers are fond of doing that. If you liked the previous books in this series, you should give this one a shot. I don't think you'll be disappointed, so have at it! My only real problem with this book is that it either had unnecessary words or words missing in sentences. I very much appreciate that this book has chapter demarcations. Chapter demarcations make it so much easier to find a stopping place when you need to do so or to see how close you are to the end of a chapter. I can't wait to read the next one!
