I am ecstatic with the results and highly recommend considering it if it is within your budget range ...
My faithful AAXA-P300 recently died on me (sadpanda), and shopping around for a brighter, 1080p replacement for it, I looked at Epson range based on a recommendation from a friend who has an Epson 3020.The 5030UB stood out from the other choices based on the top notch specs combined with the flexibility of installation options afforded by the massive zoom and lens shift range (the lens shift range is massive both on paper and in reality); After receiving the unit, I am ecstatic with the results and highly recommend considering it if it is within your budget range (It is admittedly not a cheap projector, but the quality and flexibility claimed are delivered in spades :))Picture quality for HD content is clear, tack sharp and very well rendered. Out of the box in THX colour mode, the colour balance is good (some tuning results in even better performance which is impressive). Blacks are well rendered with Auto-Iris off, and definitely show improvement with it on. Shadow detail and overall dynamic range are impressive Picture quality for non HD content suffers a bit due to the extreme quality of the projector at it's native resolution, but only if you are within 3 feet of the screen (not really recommended as a good viewing for such a large screen anyways.)For 3d content, the brightness of this project stands it in good stead, allowing the picture to remain clear and bright even through the included glasses. Be aware that the glasses can take a second or two to sync, but once sync'd, I had no issues with them; They were about middle of the road comfort wise, I wouldn't want to wear them all day, but they were fine for the length of a movie. This initial review is with no special screen and very basic light control (specifically, just a normal wall with off white paint, vertical blinds that are not black out, and the ability to turn off and on internal lighting). The image from the 5030 is viewable in most conditions, including ambiant light during the day (indirect sunlight on the view screen) and shifts to outstanding with some basic light control applied.Lastly, the project is _quiet_. Like, scary quiet. You can sit right next to it and barely hear it at all even when it's been running for a little while, definitely an impressive feat considering how bight it is!If you're looking for a high quality, flexible projector options without compromises, definitely check out the 5030UB and you won't be disappointed :)

Best Medium Priced Home Theater Projector Out There - Hands Down!!
A really great projector that has given first class imagery on everything we've thrown at it. We have it ceiling mounted at around 13 feet from the 120 inch screen and hooked up to a Sony 4K upconverting 3D blu-ray player with a Denon 7.2 receiver doing the honors of processing picture and sound (full 7.2 audio set up with Definitive Technology Center Speaker, Infinity Floors, JBL Surrounds, and Infinity Back Surrounds - admittedly pieced together but surprisingly robust sound when combined!) and sending it via hdmi to the projector, which in turn puts a great picture on our Elite screen. It does fine in ECO mode which is very quiet and the regular mode only adds a little fan sound that disappears in the sound system when watching a movie or TV show. Blu-Rays look stunning. DVD's are upgraded via the player and look great on screen as well! I am particularly impressed with the RF 3D emitter that is built in on this projector which in tandem with the Epson 3D glasses gives a really impressive 3D experience up on that screen. I chose this projector over a comparable Sony because of the RF emitter being built in. RF is the only way to go with these projectors if you want real 3D immersion. It costs a bit more than most but you most certainly get what you pay for with the 3 LCD system and all the extras that Epson has built in. Be warned the bulbs run around $300 and I'd only buy from Epson if I were you because there are so many after market scam bulbs being sold out there that last a month or so it's not worth the risk at this point. Maybe later when the market catches up. However you're gonna get 4,000 or so hours out of this first one (knock on wood) so it'll be awhile before you have to replace it. I bought one as a back-up because I'm compulsive that way - now watch when I need it the price will have dropped to $150 - I know my luck!Best projector I've ever seen for a home theater without moving up into the big leagues with a $5,000 to $10,000 rig. I recommend without hesitation. Any longevity or bulb problems and I'll come back and rewrite this review.

Very impressive definition
I've had this projector for three months. Beautiful. Very satisfied. My screen is 92" and while watching a program I get so caught up in the high definition that I forget exactly what I'm watching. I haven't tried out the 3D or other features, but what I've seen is impressive. This is my first projector and prior to this I had a 80" Pioneer flat screen. I wouldn't go back.
