I Don't Think the 1920's Are Considered Edwardian
Enjoyable to watch, but Downton Abbey is not set in Edwardian England. I could be mistaken, but I thought Edwardian times refers to King Edward the VII's reign, which ended before the start of WWI. I find it curious then that this DVD keeps referring to the ettiquette & manners of the Edwardians, when the Downton Abbey series begins with the sinking of the Titanic, which happended after King Edward VII's death. Even if you count WWI as still being Edwardian, this means that this period ended after season 2. Season 3 begins in 1920. To my mind, the 1920's are not considered Edwardian times. Perhaps this DVD keeps referring to the Edwardians because the people who were in the Edwardian times were still observing the same customs well into the 1920's. Regardless of what is technically considered the end of the Edwardian era, this DVD is a must for those who are interested in the customs of the English aristocracy.

Pay Attention
Pay Attention to this video. While some might sneer at this video as being old fashioned or hokey, the fact is, we can all learn something from the way people conducted themselves in the past. It wouldn't kill any Millennial or GenZ-er to learn how to use a knife and fork properly, eat properly, how to converse at a formal dinner or even in the school cafeteria, how to wait for your host/hostess to begin a dinner or an event, how to old a wine/champagne glass properly or how to greet ladies properly or how to actually BE a lady.I loved this video. There's a a lot to be learned.

Kind of expensive but worthy…
…of being in your Downton Abbey collection. Interesting presentation on life in 1920's upper class Britain…you'll learn something in each segment of the program. The most worthless part is the "How to make a Dress" segment (more on restoring/maintaining a1920's original than on making one) and even that is worth watching. You'll also be shown a clip of Michelle Dockery wearing the dress in one episode. Several cast members (Dockery as often as any I think) talk about their roles and what they've learned, I find that they almost always look a little different in modern day hair, clothing styles…some of them sound different different too.Kind of expensive on it's own but well worth watching and should be in your collection.

It was truly amazing for me
It was so interesting to read and watch just how they lived back in those days. The historian that is in charge is so informed in the history of this period that it really held my attention. It was truly amazing for me. I am so into Downton Abbey and maybe that is the ultimate reason I sought more of the history of this. The history of the castle was interesting as well. I loved learning that a lot of the dresses are actually vintage dresses from that time period and are being restored to be used for the show. I so enjoyed watching and learning but am so very glad I live in my time period - it is much less formal for all involved.

Lots of fun
I enjoyed this video. It's a fun learning experience for fans of Downton Abbey and all things "posh" from that period. My only regret was finding out that I could have watched it for free with my Prime membership. I didn't have to buy the DVD. My mistake. Still enjoyed watching it.

A Wonderful Etiquette Tutorial
This is so fascinating---truly a glimpse into the elegance of the early 20th century manners of English society. The filming is well done, and the information from the Downton Abbey expert is wonderful. I would only wish for it to be longer and more in depth.

Manners in the Past
One can truly appreciate the time and detail given in a period of time whereas society was about being "proper" and not the lack of effort in this casual society of the time.

No Sound
Seems I am the only one who reports that their DVD plays with no sound. I have other PBS videos and they play fine. This is a first for me. Any ideas on what to do?
