Great size, well made, no issues
We love the size of this board and the weight (3.45 pounds). Easy to hand wash and take care of. Because this is wood, I would recommend giving it a quick wipe with the hand after washing to brush excess water off before setting in a rack to dry.As far as the rough feeling, while ours arrived fairly smooth I did give it a couple of light passes with some 400 grit sandpaper (single sheets are cheap at local hardware store). Haven't yet oiled, still looks and performs well after 12+months.

Practical AND beautiful!
This cutting board is large enough to handle big meal preps. It's also very thick and solid. The handle allows you to hang it up, which you definitely should do because it's actually an incredibly attractive board and looks great hanging on the kitchen wall! So glad I made this purchase.

Beautiful but rough?
I saw that America's Test Kitchen recommended teak for a cutting board so I wanted to buy the larger version of this with end-grain teak wood. Since I live in a small apartment the 20x15 board would be the same size as my sink so I opted for this smaller and cheaper version instead.Upon opening this product I immediately wanted to give it 5 stars because it is really beautiful in person and it was smooth. I decided to wash it and oil it before giving it a review. After the initial wash little fibers stood up all over the board and the board because rough to the point that I was worried to get splinters on my hands. So I oiled it and left it overnight then wiped off the excess in the morning. It was still rough. I repeated this same procedure twice more and it still felt the same. Meantime, I ordered some sand paper from Amazon and when the sand paper came I immediately sanded it. The board again felt smooth. I washed it again to get rid of the extra wood dust from sanding. To my surprise, the board became rough again. Now I'm thinking maybe this is the way it's supposed to be? I'm going to oil it once more and then just let it be. Will update to if it becomes better or worse with use.Another thing to mention is that every time I oiled it, it stained my buffing brush. It even stained my sponge (but that's because of washing it after sanding).Update: 2/21/2017It's been 8 months since I've had the product. For awhile I've left it untouched because I was so disappointed with the rough surface and how hard it feels on my knife. I still would give it 4 stars because it's a good sturdy product, the wood has not had any splits or cracks, the size of this is perfect for my kitchen, and the price is not too expensive.I've bought a bamboo cutting board since this one felt so rough, but neither feels superior than the other and both feels hard on my knives. I've been oiling this board after every other use and it seems ok. I can still feel the roughness when I run my hand through the board but it won't give me splinters.I don't know what's the best wood for a cutting board, but for my day-to-day use this seems to work fine. I would not recommend this to be used on very expensive knives.

Hole…
The hole for the handle took up a lot of space of the board. It made the useable surface area much smaller than expected. I returned this item.

Crack in handle, 10 weeks.
We purchased this cutting board 10 weeks ago and the handle cracked tonight - the wood split. We have been careful with it and the board has not been left in water or under conditions that would potentially cause this to happen. I'm so disappointed. It's pretty but now I am unable to use it or want to keep it.There is no option to request a replacement or return it.Very disappointing and frustrating.

Arrived Coming Apart at The Seams
I have wanted a teak cutting board for ages, and finally splurged on this item. Two stars because it does have a good feel with the shape, weight and overall size, but the cutting board arrived dull and rough, and was molding at the seams! Even after a layer of walrus oil and wax the wood still looks mold-stained (and now I can no longer return it after trying to treat it)!Even though I've treated it, I will not be suprised if this board splits on the seams.

Perfect size. Great surface.
This is a nice medium sized board. Based on many home chef recommendation sites I originally ordered one twice this size... and it's a beast. I will keep the large one for holidays and roasts, etc but on day-to-day this is my "go-to".

Is a great size for kitchen preparation
Is a great size for kitchen preparation. Initially used a beeswax product on the board several times before actually chopping on it. Now just rinse the board and apply beeswax every couple of weeks. No longer chop garlic on it as had to use lemon juice on it to remove the smell and then had to use beeswax to recoat the board as juice had removed the finish. Only use it for vegetables and would buy another one for using with meat. Like the board a lot. Is cheaper and bigger than many boards that have been bought at kitchen stores. Would definitely recommend.
