That is a good amount of room for most everything though. My learning curve from the Nordic taught me to line both the bottom pan and the drip tray in foil. I've also learned to put the smoking chips around the edges of the bottom pan, so the smoke can get up to the food. There is only a small space around the edges of the drip tray that allow the smoke to rise up from below. Salmon only took 12 minutes to cook, instead of the longer time suggested in the recipe book so watch your food carefully and check on it. I have a nice list now, of cooking times. I ordered a perforated quarter sheet pan Crestware 9 by 13 by 1-Inch Perorated Quarter Sheet Pan to use for delicate fish, loose corn, and other things that may fall through the grid of the food tray. Being 9 x 13 it should fit. I will update in a couple of days when the pan gets here. UPDATE: That perforated quarter sheet pan did not fit due to the rounded edges of the smoker. It's a really nice pan, and I will use it for pizza instead. I have purchased some foil grilling sheets with perforations that I cut to fit. They work perfectly and allow the smoke to penetrate the food. I ordered 4 of these and they never arrived from this seller *by G***. on January 24, 2024* In November of 2023, I ordered 4 of these Cameron Smoker Gift Box Sets here on Amazon as Christmas presents while they were on a huge sale. Now, 3 months later, I still have not received my shipment. I rated the Smoker product because I had been gifted one Christmas a year ago and love how quickly and easily you can get a nicely smoked product using the simple but effective Cameron Stovetop Smoker. The product is great but this seller is not and does not follow through. This is such a great product, that I can only suspect that these sellers are not directly tied to the Cameron company. There is no communication effort from them after several attempts to contact them through Amazon. I have finally requested that they reship my order but no response. Out of all of my dealings with Amazon over the years, this is the first really bad experience with a less-than-honorable seller.
