Q: brought one myself and the middle that you put the tape on broke so cannot use it cant get in touch with seller wasted my money

Make a new reel out of wood with a nail through the center. Does not have to be circular in shape. What about two pieces of wood in the shape of a cross.

Q: Is it possible to get a replacement spindle/wheel section? The tiny black bars on mine have snapped off. Thank you.

You can get them on eBay but they’re about £4.50.
