Works perfectly - once you know the secrets!
I bought this pretty much exclusively to cook sweet (aka sticky or glutinous) rice. Before purchasing, I asked questions about this and another similar cooker, but didn't get much useful info about what quantity DRY rice and water I could safely cook in this thing at one time. I decided to give it a try anyway, because the price was so reasonable. My initial trial, I put in 4 cups of the rice and 5 cups of water. Yes, I know that standard practice is pretty much 1.5 to 2 cups water per cup of rice, but this is the ratio I like to use. I put the rice and water in the cooker, stirred, put on the inner lid (after figuring out that it goes with the convex part facing DOWN - there is a small plastic tab that sticks up on the concave side which is used to pull the lid out after cooking) and snapped on the outer lid. I put it in my 1250 watt Panasonic inverter microwave, set it for 5 minutes on high and 15 minutes at 70% power and waited. After about 8 minutes of the total cooking time, there was a very small amount of boilover, maybe 2 tablespoons - so I stopped the microwave, reset the remaining minutes to run at 50% power, and no more boiling over. When the timer let me know that the cooking time had elapsed, I simply left the cooker, undisturbed, in the MW with the door shut for 20 minutes. At that point, I opened the lid and boy was I happy - PERFECTLY cooked sweet rice! Yay!The next batch I tried, I did the same amounts of rice and water, but from the start, set the time for 5 minutes on High and 15 minutes on 50%. Again, I let the rice simply sit for 20 minutes before opening the lid. NO boilover, and beautifully cooked rice!TODAY - wondered if I could push the envelope a bit? Added 5 cups of dry sticky rice to the pot, followed by 6.5 cups of water, stirred, put in inner lid, snapped on cover, same time - 5 minutes High, 15 minutes 50%. Standing time 20 minutes. NO boilover and again - the rice is perfect.I would love it if I could start with 6 cups of rice and 7 cups of water - I may try that next as it seemed there was still plenty of headspace in the cooker. If I do that I'll try to remember to report back. This cooker is very easy to clean, does not warp under extended cooking times, love that everything stores inside the cooker, and I love the included set of measuring cups and measuring spoons. Not sure if I'll ever use the steamer basket or steamer tray, and probably never the pasta measure, but for the price - this cooker is a bargain! No more rice burned on the bottom from cooking stovetop, and I didn't want to buy a great big electric rice cooker. Very happy with this purchase!UPDATE 1/25/16 - I love this cooker. I use it often. It makes perfectly cooked quinoa - 4 cups liquid (I prefer chicken stock) and 2 cups quinoa, put on the inner lid, snap down the outer lid, 5 minutes on High power and 10 minutes on 50% and let stand 10 minutes. Fluffy and wonderful. I haven't tried pasta yet but that's gonna be soon because we've been making killer marinara sauce from homegrown Roma tomatoes and I'd really love to cook the pasta without heating up the kitchen and standing there watching it to make sure it doesn't boil over on the stove. It's GREAT for steaming veggies too, and I love the measuring cups and spoons that came with it. It's about $10 right now and I really don't see how you can go wrong unless it won't fit in your small microwave.

Life saver and my new favorite gadget!
I was getting tired of the rice cooker always being in use and every time I did make rice, I was only able to have one serving since everyone else ate it. I didn't really want to buy a rice cooker but was looking into them when I found this. It sold me, especially for the price and with all the accessories it came with. I looked at another microwavable rice cooker but it didn't do as much as this one did: steams vegetables and cooks pasta too!I used it the first day I got it. To try it out first, I only did a cup of Jasmine rice and followed its instructions. While it was in the microwave, my mom walked in and said it smelled heavenly. Once it was ready, we both tried some and were surprised by how good it came out!Later that day, I put a cup of my newest rice I had just ordered; Thai sweet sticky rice. Now this was scary since sticky rice is best cooked by being steamed but I didn't want to buy the bamboo basket, cheese cloths, and steamer pot and wondered if it would come out well here in this thing. I let the rice soak in the cooker overnight (I fell asleep and forgot about it so it wasn't intentional). The next morning I remembered and quickly put it in the microwave for 10 min. After letting it set for 5-10 min after, I opened the lid and stirred the rice around aaand....it was PERFECT! The rice came out with the perfect consistency, it was sticky and not mush, and of course, it was delicious!I haven't made pasta yet but can't wait and have a feeling that it will come out just as good. But I seriously am so glad I took a risk and bought this because I wasn't very sure at first and kept it in my cart for a while. This cooker helps me out a lot, especially since I'm weight training and constantly eating.*UPDATE*I finally made pasta in it.1) Put 2 cups of penne pasta and 8 cups of water into the tub.2) Then I googled a bit on microwaving pasta since the instructions advise to go by the pasta box in microwaving but yeah that's pointless since the majority of pasta has instructions for stove top only. I found a great article about a college student who had to learn how to make his microwave his best friend and he learned that the best way to cook pasta is to add 3-5 minutes to the stove top cooking instructions. My box said 11 min on stove top.3) Microwaved for 15 min and my pasta came out way better than when I cook it on stove top! A little bit of water bubbled out but that's no biggie for me.But so far I have used this gadget every single day, especially to make Thai sticky rice. Super happy now to know that it cooks pasta very well!

Great value for money
So far so good. I can make nice fluffy rice in here though I had to amend the recommended amounts a little. Used 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water and had it at 70% power (1200 watts microwave) for 13 minutes. If i use their times and measurements, I find the rice a little hard.Having all the measuring cups and spoons is also really great! The pasta strainer works well too.Dishwasher safe as long as on the top rack.Overall, for the price, it's a wonderful product.
