Enjoyable at first, but completely unreliable.
I purchased this unit about three years ago and for the first 2 1/2 years it seemed to work flawlessly. However, about 4 or 5 months ago the anemometer started losing sync with the base unit. I could press the buttons to force the base unit to search for registered sensor and it would work fine for a week or so then drop off-line again. Gradually it started dropping off every few hours then it would not connect at all. I replaced the battery and reset the anemometer but that did not help. I replaced the batteries in the base unit and reset it. That did not help. Finally I contacted Oregon Scientific about 3 months ago and all they were willing to do was sell me a complete new anemometer for a slight reduction of the list price. So I went ahead and spent another $90.The system again worked flawlessly and I thought my problems were over ... until three days ago, when I noticed the anemometer had again dropped off-line. I pressed the buttons for the base unit to reconnect, and few hours later it dropped off-line again, along with ALL of the sensors. I again forced a reconnect, and the whole process repeated. The anemometer drops off after an hour or so and if I do nothing, the rest of the sensors drop off too. I have reset the base unit and the anemometer fails to connect. It is unacceptable for a unit costing several hundred dollars to only last less than 3 years. Oregon Scientific customer support is non-existent and customer service sucks. I realize that there may be many units out there which have been operating flawlessly for longer than mine. But if that's the case, Oregon Scientific should be willing to step up and acknowledge that my unit has a manufacturing defect and replace it. But calling them has been an exercise in futility.I do not recommend this product under any circumstances. As others have written, buy another brand instead. I will never buy another Oregon Scientific product and will certain attempt to dissuade any of my friends from buying their products.

The poor reviews were right. Next time I will listen.
It worked very well for a few months. It was easy and straightforward to set up and it seemed reliable. The I started having two significant problems. The temperature readings became increasingly inaccurate. Now, even with new batteries, the temperature/humidity sensor stops transmitting for hours at a time, even though it and the base unit have been at the same location from the very first day. In addition, an additional temperature/humidity sensor that I added to monitor my small greenhouse started requiring battery replacement every two weeks and customer support refused to address the situation.I bought this product regardless of numerous very concerning reviews. I am writing this one hoping to help some else avoid making the same mistake!

Worth The Price
I just recently bought the WMR200A, which when I ordered I thought was the WMR200. I don't think there is much of a difference. So far I really like it with the exception of 3 things. 1) The display unit has a backlight that can be on all the time or just when you touch the screen. The downside to the light is it is kind of a bright blue and it makes the information hard to read. I called Oregon Scientific and asked if it could be adjusted to a dimmer setting and was told no! 2) The receptacle for the AC power cord and the USB are on the top of the unit and you have to have the have the cables up and down the side of the unit. 3) The Weather OS Pro 200 software is very limited as to what you can do! It has virtually no user options other then setting if you want Fahrenheit or Celsius etc. If you want to reset the daily min/max values you cant do it through the computer, you can only reset the reading on the display unit, but that does not change the min/max reading on the computer display. For example the current Max temperature is 60 degrees and the min temperature in 19.4 degrees. I reset the temperature reading on the display unit, but the readings on the computer did not change! I emailed customer service and they told me to unplug and remove the batteries for 10 minutes to reset them, I told them that was stupid, because I didn't want to have to do that daily if I wanted to see the daily highs and lows. I don't like it as much as the first Oregon Scientific WMR 968 I had several years ago. I thought there was a problem with the rain unit because we had some rain and it did not register anything, it turned out to be a error on my part during installation.

Nice All-in-one System if What You Want is to Remotely View and Log Data to Computer
I like this system because it works fine for my needs. Definitely not known for its longevity, though now cheap enough for me to buy two new systems so I'll have replacement parts available when others fail. The other reason I bought two of these is the price--I've paid around $250 each for my last two systems over the past 16 years, and at $99 it's obviously not going to be around for much longer. Another reason for Oregon Scientific over Davis is the built-in USB interface that works with Virtual Weather Station, without accessories. Plug it in, configure the interface, and it's on the air with Wunderground. The Davis is more accurate, and it should be for the $500+ it would take to put its data on the Internet. I understand Davis' longevity is about the same, and for me, its cost doesn't justify the expense.

Garbage, and no support from manufacturer.
The indoor unit constantly loses connection with the weather station itself. In addition, whenever it's rainy, misty, foggy, etc. (whenever the humidity rises to 100%) the temperature sensor just keeps reading higher and higher temperatures until it dries out--I had days when it was actually 10C outside but this station said it was 60C. I tried to contact the manufacturer multiple times about the issues and a RMA replacement, but they just ignore the messages and never get back to you. Do not make the same mistake I did: buy something else. I bought one of the AcuRite units afterwards and never had any issue with that one at all.

DON'T BUY THIS!!
This is the second Oregon Scientific I've owned. The first died after 3 years. Outside temp went, rainfall never really worked. I got a new one 2 yrs ago. What a mistake!! Same old problems. Outside temps read really high (it was in the shade) then stopped working completely. Rainfall stopped working after just 6 months. Not a cheap piece of equipment, but a very poor one. SAVE YOUR MONEY BUY SOMETHING ELSE!! I certainly won't be getting a 3rd one!

Four Stars
Easy to install and start up. Everything perfect except the software. With Windows 7 the included software is unusable.
