Used it for about 2 hours around the fire in Northern Michigan. The mosquitoes, flies, gnats are pretty abundant now with warm nights and periodic rain storms for hatching grounds. So it killed about 50 mosquitoes in that time , while set about 10 feet from the fire. I don't think the 3 of us got bit by bugs because this was near us and attracted them enough to make it worth having around. It was me, and at least 1 little bloodsucking at night in a closed room, about 15 ft by 10 ft, by 10 ft. I spent half an hour looking for 'em, trying to swat him, and missing every time. Finally I got the zapper lamp from my car, and returned to the room. Of course, then I couldn't find 'em. Figured he'd escaped when I went out for the lamp. But then he zipped past my face. So I powered up the UV and shut off the room lights. Now the only light was the lantern on the desk, and the Computer display. He buzzed the display twice (and I again failed to catch/smash him) but then, BZZT! Dead Mosquito. I went to turn the lights back on, and as I hit the switch, BZZT! Apparently there were two of 'em. Both now past-tense. As for range, these things are line of sight, power of light attractors. If there is a brighter light around, it will reduce their effectiveness. If there is only one bug, it may not even get it. But if there is a swarm, expect to be cleaning the grill later. (I prefer canned air, and a toothpick if they are really fried on in place.) It works for Mosquito and Gnat sized light attracted flying things. I have seen a Moth get zapped, then wake up and fly away, only to come back again. Flys and wasps don't seem to be attracted. DOESN'T KILL MOSQUITOES!!! *by D***H on January 5, 2020* Fast delivery! Small, lightweight with a beautiful, aesthetic design. I've only used it indoors for now in the bedroom not on a camping trip or outdoors. Since I started using it, I do sleep better and don't have a dread of being bitten by mosquitoes anymore. I no longer hear the buzz of mosquitoes neither do I think I have been bitten. However of the 4 that I bought that are in use throughout my home, only one mosquito seems to have been trapped and electrocuted by one of them. The jury is still out for me with respect to this product. I'll post an update after a longer period of use (about 3 weeks presently). It only came with the advertised accessories and I had to purchase separately a 1A output charger for each. A full charge pretty much can give you 2 days worth of mosquito electric grid function, at 6 hours use per night, though with increasing dimming of the blue UV light, so I decided to charge it daily after each 6 hours use to rest assured that its effectiveness isn't compromised. The camping light functions, functions to all intents and purposes as advertised. Great product with innovative design! UPDATE 8th APRIL 2020 (3 MONTHS PLUS OF TRIAL USE) Very disappointed with this product! Either the mosquitoes have learnt to avoid it's attractive blue light or it was never meant to be a mosquito killer in the first place!
