ONLY WORKS WITH PRINTERS THAT ARE EXPLICITLY APPLE-CAPABLE
I spent considerable time on the phone with tech support, as well as online trying to get this print server to work with my various devices...what I have found is that while it works so-so with Windows devices, Apple products are questionable. My wife & I have iPhone 8 models and each have newer iPad Pros; none of these will print via this print hub. Tech support actually tried to blame our iPhones & iPads as the problem! What I have confirmed is that unless your printer is specifically listed as iPrint compatible (or otherwise compatible with printing from Apple products), this print server WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR PRINTER TO PRINT ANYTHING FROM APPLE PRODUCTS. Make sure you have a printer that is specifically iPrint-capable or compatible with apple products before purchasing this print server. The only thing that worked for us was to buy a new printer that was iPrint compatible, and even after that we still have connection issues between our various devices when trying to print.

Well made device focused on iOS feature
I purchased this print server to put my DYMO 450 turbo label printer on the network and available wirelessly. For my windows PCs the hawking software needs to be installed but it’s painless and anyone can do it.Our iPhones and iPads can see the printer without any manipulation through the airport (air drop, airport, air print whatever it is) feature.I have not yet attempted to use it from android device but I will and will try to remember to update this review.Overall this print server was meant to continue use from PCs and extend use to iPhones and iPads wirelessly which it accomplishes perfectly. You’ll need to see my upcoming review of the DYMO for how I make that work. This print server is tiny and easily hidden with some 3M nylon Velcro under the countertop. It’s expensive in comparison to others but I’ll say zero headaches at this point and complete confidence in it.

Not only a print server but actually an ethernet USB port.
Device configuration was fairly easy in my multi workstation environment. You need to open its control software and set it to 'auto connect', otherwise one client will keep the connection and will have to release it before others can connect (one connection at a time). With auto connect enabled, the print server tells the software that someone is connected and then when another print job comes in allows the connection to occur. Works well with no intervention. On another note, this little unit actually allows you to connect ANY usb device to it to be used over ethernet. I have tried a flash drive and a usb to serial converter so far. Very impressed by that. Seems that it actually enumerates the port and the client computer supplies the drivers.

Nice "Virtual USB"/USB over Ethernet port but not a print *queue*!!
I guess I was expecting something a bit like the print server feature in Windows or on JetDirect cards where you actually have a windows print queue that you're spooling jobs to.This device allows the single connecting computer to grab the device and keep hold of it until it's done (there is an autoconnect/disconnect feature but one machine on the network still holds on to the printer longer than it takes to complete its print job). With a half dozen computers in the household, it's a bit of chaos figuring out which computer has hold of it and for non-technical users in the household, it's just too much. The scanning feature was nice and works quite well over the network (my target device was a multifunction printer/scanner/copier) but I struggled to see the use especially if it was a single document fed, multi-page document (my ADF works OK but jams easily so I have to do a lot of single page scans).I'll likely set up a cheap, old computer as a print server for the old printer I'm trying to use. This will also allow me to use the Copy/Scan buttons on the front of the unit and pick up the scanned documents from a share on the attached computer.

Great print server for multi-function printers!
A friend needed to share an Epson NX110 multi-function printer between two computers. Since the computers are in different parts of the house, I got this Hawking print server to put the printer on the network. They used to have the printer physically connected to one of the computers and share it via Windows print sharing, but that meant leaving that computer on all the time and we had some network issues, preventing printing from working reliably. The Hawking print server was very easy to install and has worked quite well. We're using the Ethernet port to connect to our wireless router. There IS a client that has to get connected on each computer. One computer is running Windows 7 and the other is running Windows 10 and we had to install different client versions on each computer. Once we got the clients installed, both computers have been printing to the printer without issue.Very satisfied!

Works, but not the way we need.
I wanted this print server to be awesome, but it did not work logically. Everyone would expect this to work on the same WiFi network as your computer/device, but the only way to make it work is to connect to the print server WiFi to print...so it does not work on your WiFi network unless you disconnect from your network to connect to it’s built-in network. This means computers/devices on the other side of the house/building/etc can’t use because they are not close enough to the little print server.Returned because could only use if connect Directly to the print server.

Never Got it Working
Attempted to set it up on both MacOS 10.14.x and Windows 10. I found support helpful (which is why I'm giving it two stars), but after *finally* getting the wireless setup complete the device would not detect a printer or allow any further setup. It didn't seem to have any way to reset it to factory so I couldn't even try it again. For Mac users, please not that (inexplicably) Hawking has three separate versions of the software on their web site and they are not all listed together. Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the list and get the latest version (appropriate for your OS version). If you are looking for a really good wireless print server, buy a used Apple Airport Express or Extreme for less than half the price of this. Then:- plug the airport into your router with any ethernet cable you have lying around.- use the Airport Utility, connect to it and launch setup.- select "connect to existing wireless network", select your network name and password.- once the airport restarts, unplug it from your network, and plug your printer into the USB port on your airport. This is what I ended up doing after three hours of trying to get this thing to work.

AMAZING!!!!
AMAZING!!!! This is a life saver! I used it to make my POS printer wireless and it saved me big time. A new wifi printer is over 400$ and with this print server, installation was less than 5 minutes, couldn't be easier. There is no lag when printing its literally instant. This is well worth the price! 10 stars
