A review written by a human.
I couldn't help but notice that most of the reviews here have been written by cats. I think cats might be a little bit biased, so I figured a human perspective might be in order. That, and my master Buddy has directed me to write a review. Here's to hoping he doesn't read it.While Buddy pretty much controls everything that affects him in his life, there is one thing that he relies on me for. Food. I am very careful when choosing what he eats because he is my master, and I want to take good care of him. I feed him only wet, grain-free food, and his health has improved dramatically since making that switch. He doesn't yack all over the place anymore like cats typically do, and his fur is extremely soft and fluffy.I was leery about purchasing these because of the grain content. However, Buddy's doctor wants to clean his teeth, and Buddy wants no part of that. So I decided to give these a try. After all, a few pieces of these a day couldn't really hurt, could they?Buddy doesn't like treats. He's a pretty finicky eater. He won't touch any of the other treats I've brought home for him, so they tend to end up in the trash bin. When I first opened a bag of these, he was at first thinking "ho, hum. Another piece of garbage I won't like". Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. Ever since that first eye opening experience, he will come running from wherever he is every time I open the door to that cupboard. The first thing I noticed is that the directions on the package say that a cat Buddy's size should get 25 treats a day. God, all mighty, no! Please don't ever let your cat see the package. It was obviously written by a cat to try to trick their humans into allowing them far more than what would be considered normal consumption. Now I started giving Buddy a single treat, so when I give him 5 or 6, he thinks it's Kitty Christmas. And that's what I stick to. He gets 5 or 6 a day, and that's it.I have noticed, over a couple of short months, that his breath doesn't smell as horrible as it used to. He used to wake me up with it in the mornings. It was potent enough to peel paint. Now, he has to use other means to get my attention when it's breakfast time at 2:00 AM.All in all, I'm glad I found these. Can't wait for his next doctor's visit in August to see if there is any improvement in his tartar buildup.

A Cat's Review
Five stars for this product, which is delicious. One star for my human, who follows the package instructions to give a 12-pound cat only 21 of these a day even though that is clearly an typo and 210 is the correct number. If your human is similarly stupid, you need to train him. First, try standing in front of the drawer where they're stored and meowing really loudly. Rub your human's legs and look up expectantly. If that doesn't work, try putting yourself the way of her path--which works on the principle of what humans call a tollbooth. Still no luck? Try stepping it up a more advanced technique such as the silent miaow. You can read about this, and other useful techniques, here: The Silent Miaow: A Manual for Kittens, Strays, and Homeless Cats If all else fails, learn to open the drawer yourself. First, pick a time when your human is not home, or is home and ignoring you. You should never do this while observed because, in theory, you're not supposed to be able to do it. But it's easy. Jump on the counter, facing out. Put your paw in the handle of the drawer and push away from you. Take the bag in your teeth and jump on the floor with it. Chew it until you can get a small hole in it, then use your paw to push the treats out of the hole. Eat them ALL!When your human returns, look innocent.

Cat does not need teeth brushing and reduces excessive mouth saliva
My cat loves these treats. Seriously she stands by the cupboard meowing for them. Too cute, except when it is 2 in the morning that is. LOL!! Still, in all seriousness, the veterinarian recommended when she was a kitten for her teeth and I am happy to report that at every yearly check up the veterinarian (no matter who I go to) comment about her beautiful teeth and gums. The veterinarian always exclaim that she has better teeth than most cats; and although initially the veterinarian hints at brushing my cats teeth when they do the wellness exam, they quickly change there tune when they look closer at her teeth. With senior cats I think that the veterinarian' usually spiel, "brush the cats teeth", but they are always surprised how beautiful her teeth are without brushing her teeth and just using the Greenies Dental Treats instead. My Mom's cat has really bad teeth and excessive saliva that drools down her mouth. It is really gross and she has tried a lot of treats to no avail but she tried Greenies on my recommendation and there was a noticeable difference in the amount of slimy, saliva. I didn't need to clean the cat dishs' rim as much either (which was always sticky and slimy)!!!Highly recommend. My cat only seems to like the Ocean Fish Flavor the best, because she is a finicky eater. I know other cats that also like the Chicken Flavor too. So I can recommend both those flavors.

Felix tested; Vet approved
Shortly after adopting our first cat, a 1 year old shelter cat named Felix; we headed to the vet for a physical and everything looked great, except his teeth. The vet let us know that he had some significant tarter build up and explained how the importance of good mouth hygiene is critical to a cat's overall health. Being a shelter cat, he has some mannerisms that cannot be changed no matter how hard we try. One of them is not being able to brush his teeth, or even get near his mouth without getting nipped at! After trying several different tactics, I came across these Greenies and read what other reviewers had to say. Excited, I ordered a bag and away we went. It was love at first bite for Felix and the rest is history!Greenies are vet-approved and recommended, come in yummy flavors, are calorie conscious and are made from all natural ingredients.Felix recently had his annual physical and the vet was super impressed with his overall physical condition; especially his teeth and oral hygiene! These oral treats are now a staple in his daily diet, along with Hill's Science Diet Adult Oral Care that I also purchased from Amazon at the same time. Thanks for a great product!
