## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it mouseproof?**
A: I doubt it. A mouse could easily move between the bars. It keeps out pigeons but not doves or anything smaller than a dove.

**Q: Can pidgeons and magpies get through the gaps**
A: I never had magpies, but yes, pidgeons can squeeze themselves so small they can get in.  Unfortuately they then .panic because they can't figure out how to get out, and you have to lift the cage to resue them. I solved the problem by threading a couple of rows of garden twine around the cage looping it round the spars to hold it in place.  That had 'em! Only the small birds could get in and out.

**Q: Does the cage keep out pheasants?**
A: Definitely yes!

**Q: Ideas on how to keep Jackdaws from tipping it over? They tear apart all my feeders, even on the ground.**
A: We've not had any further problems with the larger birds and those that have been around haven't overturned the feeder.  The only thing I can suggest is
perhaps trying something like tent pegs.

Love this bird feeder. Only want to feed small birds. The hanging varieties leave seeds on ground. Pigeons are attracted by seed droppings. This bird feeder only let's small birds in. Just what I needed.

Wood pigeons are the problem. They eat everything. Certainly worked for them. I would suspect Ferrell pigeons would be able to get through the bars. Took a few days for the blackbirds to get used to it and lose there fear of something strange. The females now calls to me as if to say look at me, I am now using the feeder. Even sit outside my home office window before hand perched on the garage roof, Makes a chirping sound, looks at me for approval and then flies down to the feeder. May benefit from an additional horizontal bar that may inhibit Ferrell pigeons. Update: The Ferrell pigeons, more specifically the young ones are very persistent so made my own modification. Basically garden wire wound round each vertical post. Done slightly higher and then pulled down to tighten. Only one pigeon made it through since doing the mod. Dropped my rating by 1. Young grey quirrel's also a problem. Well was.
