These are excellent; he had spent much time researching them to get the right pair. Auto focusing to a degree, they are fantastically clear during the daylight, and seem to work extremely well at dawn and dusk given that the image size does not exactly match the retina size. All in all a very good pair of binoculars at a very reasonable price. Review: well worth the money - I have had two pairs of these. One pair was purchased second hand and were a bit rough so I sent them off to steiner for a service. They said they were too bad to service and sent me a brand new pair of 7x30 navigator at less than half price. Fantastic service from a fantastic bino maker. Although it is classified as a military marine binocular it can be used for general purposes. Stylish and very well made. Easy to carry around because of its light weight and to further add to its credential, it has fixed focus lens which mean that you just have to focus once on the left and right diopters and you are good to go.
