Essential tool for the live audio engineer!
This is a HANDY tool to keep in hand as a live audio engineer. I use an iPad Air 2 as a wireless mixing console (I have a PreSonus RM32AI), so all I needed was this mic to turn it into an accurate SPL/RTA. I use Analyzer by DSP Mobile (available on the Apple App Store), which specifically supports this microphone with an in-app purchase (you'll spend about $24).Since this device is intended to be used as a measurement device and not a recording device (although, it will let you record audio just fine), I don't understand the need for the lavalier clip and windscreen, but, whatever. The aluminum storage tube is a nice touch that doubles as a holder, which can be mounted to a microphone stand. I doubt I'll ever use it for that, but for safe keeping and storage, it's fantastic! The little plastic box it all comes packaged in is very handy, too! Overall, each component appears to be made of high-quality materials and I expect it to last a very long time.

Not Reliable
It works sometimes but not consistent. It could be the app but it would not give accurate pink noise response.

Test immediately! There are obvious quality control issues.
Doesn't work, and they won't take it back. I am very disappointed with this somewhat expensive microphone. I purchased this in hopes of improving the sensitivity of my metering software that I use to measure reverb times, and sound pressure. It was suppose to be an improvement ver the iPhone's onboard mic. I can't tell if that's the case, because mine apparently never worked. I plug it in, and it doesn't disengage the iPhone mic. Thought there might be a problem with the iPhone mic, but I substituted another mic (an SM-57) and that works fine. Switch it back to the i436, and nothing comes through. There ought to be a 1-year manufacturer's warranty for something this pricey, but I guess that's too much to ask. It's a sexy looking device to be sure, but worthless if it doesn't do what its supposed to do. I wasted of $169 on this...

Great audio quality!
Easy to use and works like a champ. Sooo much better than just using the microphone on my iPhone

Very Good
If you use it to have a good idea of how your room is behaving with a good measurement app it will give you a pretty good idea.
