Whirlpool W10178988 Sensor

Arrived on time. The best thing is that I did not need it. If you get the F51 code check and see if the center hex bolt is tight (bottom of machine). Mine was ~4-5 turns loose, tightened it up and the machine is fine. If the bolt is not tight the RPS will be out of alignment and not functional.

I had been hearing a clunk sound coming from the washer during the cycle for a while before I started getting the error message. I never thought it could just be a loose bolt on the bottom of the tub. Tightened that up and everything is working great again. If you've been hearing a clunk, check the bottom bolt on the tub basket before spending any money, It might save you a few bucks.

If you have the dreaded F51 error and tried taking apart he washer to find there is nothing in the tub then this is your answer! I took apart my Maytag Bravo Series washer because I had the error and was frustrated that there was nothing underneath the tub so I looked up how to replace the sensor on my own. I took apart the bottom of my washer to make sure this was the part I needed and it was the same one. This was very easy to do and was so relieved when my washer works again and washes like normal! I looked for the part in nearby places where I was because I didn't want to wait. This part was worth the wait because I got it quickly and was cheaper than where I would have purchased it in the store. I highly recommend if you are needing to replace the sensor just make sure that it matches.

Excellent! As promised, packaged well, on time. Can fix F51 error yourself, just one allen screw and 4 bolts if this RPS is the problem. You can remove your sensor, which is the little green circuit board that sits in the black housing shown. I looked at my board & saw two traces burned up. I ordered this replacement, popped it in, now I'm up and running for $20. If you have an F51 error, watch the YouTube videos and then you can lean your machine back, unscrew the one allen screw and 4 bolts and look at your board. If you see a spot where it's burned, this new $20 sensor has a good chance of fixing your machine.

Fixed my washer F 51 code. I have a Maytag bravos and I was doing some research and it said the RPS sensor is most likely the problem. I tried a few things before this, but those didn’t work. I replaced the RPS sensor and my washer works!

The install isnt about the sensor isnt about the sensor, thats just the job it takes on the washer...So i had to buy this sensor twice. The first one only lasted a few weeks. The second was a few weeks ago and still going... if it fails i will buy another cheap knockoff

I purchased this part, it failed after a few months, I tried to get a replacement and got stuck in the "Call Whirlpool", no call "Amazon" loop. Purchase the part from Whirlpool, pay the extra bucks, and at least get your warranty honored. This is the second time this part has failed for me. The first time I got ahold of a supervisor and Amazon replaced the part. No such luck this time.
