All the kids love it! Don't let the bad revies change your mind.
First of all let me say this is a great toy for kids and adults of all ages. I think it'd be a great activity for a day trip to the beach or something like that. I would love to get a bunch of these to take to our annual family reunion! I got this for my four year old and he loves it. It is a little hard for him as he is tiny for his age and so even though he had no trouble figuring out How to use it, he isn't able to get the arrows to go very far yet. Oh well I look at is as a way for him to gain some strength by practicing :) Anyway, the other kids think it's awesome too, including my 16 year old who has pretty much tried to confiscate this from him so I have to hide it from them so my son can get time for himself using it.This is a great toy. I'm going to be buying more for the summer and as far as the rubber being cheap, I looked the strings over and I disagree. The rubber on these is supple and very flexible, not dry and brittle and there is enough slack they should not be snapping. Even when myself and my husband pulled the arrow as far back as we could there was not enough tension to break the bands. If people are having problems with it breaking down after a month or two you should understand that rubber is a natural resource and it is reactive to things like heat UV light and any oils. The best thing to do when using these is make sure the kids know this and get a dark canvas bag or something to stash them in and make sure they go in a cool dark space when they aren't being used.To get the absolute most life out of these I am going to make sure my kids don't play with them for extended periods when it is very hot and sunny and also make sure they use a bit of hand sani before they play with them.I really almost didn't buy this toy because of the reviews and I'm so glad I did. My son is a little video game freak already at the age of four so I am glad that this is keeping him occupied away from his Xbox. Luckily the arrows are blunt enough that he can play it in his room without damaging anything. I can't wait until summer when I can let them play outside with these to see how far they can really go! I'm definitely buying a set for each of the other kids!

Great fun for children 3+
I've owned this toy for a little over two months now and I would definitely recommend to anyone on the fence about purchasing this product.I initially purchased this bow during the same period of time the Avengers came out (the toy was to be a gift for a child who was a fan of the character, Hawkeye) and I was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews illustrating potential issues of durability for the product.Although, it is pretty uncontrollable in a child's perspective, as long as the child is not completely thrashing on the rubber bands used to launch the arrows, the bands should stay well in-tact. That said, this toy will NOT last very long in the hands of a child who puts their toys through a beating. As this was not an issue for me, the toy is still in very good condition after 2 months of consistent use and still works extremely well. This toy is a great way to help develop a child's motor skills and hand-eye coordination while he has fun pretending to be an archer from some of his favorite cartoons/movies. Great fun for all.Condensed Final Verdict: Would definitely recommend for anyone with a child that is into any of the archer-type characters. The toy is designed well and will be tons of fun for the child.

Great For the Price
I wish it came with 3 of the whistling darts instead of having the one suction cup. It doesn't fly near as far or well. It shoots really well, but I'm not sure how long it will hold up. Same distance as advertised and seems to be pretty consistent other than the one odd arrow.

Even Better Than I Expected
We bought this toy for my daughter's "Brave" themed birthday party. It has been one of the favorite outside toys ever since. It was a hit at the party as well. It's easy to use and a lot of fun as well. We had kids of all ages, both boys and girls, playing with it and loving it. The tips of the arrows are soft in case they hit someone. This toy can take a bit of a beating just fine. It survived a big birthday party and rowdy kids and that was 7 months ago. The kids still use it all the time and love it. The flat arrows stick to hard surfaces. They love shooting it at the fence and the front door. The larger tipped arrows are for longer distances. I'm pretty impressed at how far they go. It's fairly easy to aim and the kids all seemed to get the hang of it pretty quickly. The tension is perfect for the little guys who can pull back just a little but don't have the strength of an adult. I highly recommend this toy.

Bad quality. DO NOT BUY!!!
Let me start by saying that I am a 12 year old boy. Pretty much the target age for this toy.I first bought the bow about 1 and a half years ago. After a few weeks, the rubber stretchy things stretched out and snapped. I thought that it was great while it lasted and forgot about it, $20 shorter than I was before. Now, some time later, I decided to give it another shot. When it came in the mail, I had a great time, for about an hour. Then the tail fins started to come off. I just glued them back on of course but then they came off all together the next day and it doesn't help to glue them. If you still are set on buying this toy after you read my review, buy the small one. that way you won't feel as guilty when you realize that this is a flimsy piece of plastic.

awesome toy if you can keep it from snapping in half from just falling on the floor...yep, 2 times!=l
I really liked this toy. 2 of the darts whistle and go super far! My 3 year old loved it and played with it all day when my 8 year old was at school and it was the most popular toy on Christmas day. That being said, the plastic structure around the handle is super weak when it come to impact. I had tossed it in the toy pile and it snapped in half:( so I replaced it and not 2 days later it happened again:( So just a warning! Don't throw it or expect tough boys in ninja training to keep it in one piece! i would love another one but felt like 2 broken ones were a sign.
