A Great Space Saver
I bought the Super Wave because I didn't have access to an oven. I had a microwave but it can be limited in cooking many things - especially things that need to be roasted and or crusty (and cleanup is messy and you need the right dishes, etc, etc.). A microwave was handy, but it just wasn't the right choice.Purchasing the Super Wave oven made a huge change in my cooking world. Although it is fairly large, it is also very portable, compact, and can be put away when not in use, i.e., it doesn't take up permanent space. With a little organization I was able to use the metal ring as a hotplate/trivet for the hot lid when in use and to store all the accessories inside the oven with the inverted lid on top when it is all put away. Having limited sink space, I also found that the oven bowl made a nice dishpan and cleaned up easily. It's all about organization when living in small spaces anyway and the Super Wave setup makes it easy.I did notice that some of the competitive models were reversed in that the removable top part was a bowl that essentially covered a plate while the Super Wave is a large bowl with a lid. I'm very happy with having a deep bowl that can serve multiple functions and keep all the food (and any mess) inside where it can be controlled. The oven comes with a nice set of grabbers/tongs to remove the plates, racks, and food so getting thing out isn't an issue either.I use the oven every day, but only need to clean it once or twice per week (i.e., not needed, but since it's glass and since "it can't hurt you if you can't see it", I feel obligated to clean it far more often than a regular oven). All said, however, being large also helps when making a roast chicken (depth) or baking a cake (girth)... not things that can happen in a microwave but both of which came out great in this oven. Frozen pizza takes 15 minutes from freezer to plate if I'm slow with added toppings/spices -- and the crust is as crispy as I'd like. I'm working up to making my own crust (stupid rolling pins!), but with a convection oven that'll hit 480 degrees, it should come out pretty good. Since I will be able to see it cooking, I can ensure it doesn't overcook.Overall, this oven makes a major improvement in the things I can make in a small room setting. In under a week, I've roasted a chicken (pretty enough to be a cookbook chicken!), made stuffed acorn squash (steamed then baked with ham, apple, brown sugar, cinnamon), hamburgers (not a microwave item), crispy oven french fries, and I dried tomatoes for a future pasta sauce. The hardest thing seems to be in finding what to cook next. I can now eat much, MUCH healthier foods - no more frozen dinners or instant noodles in my setup. I just pop my food into the oven (maybe preheat first for some things) set the lid on top, set the temperature and set the timer. When I close the handle, the light/heat comes on. The glass bowl lets me watch my food cook which really helps when things are browning and I need to turn them over/around.On the subject of heat, I had a bread bag about an inch away from a 450 degree oven for about 20 minutes and there was no sign of melting... so the heat stays pretty much on the inside of the glass bowl. I thought that a glass oven would have issues, but have not had a single burn/scald issue yet (and I can be fairly clumsy).I was also gifted a set of "extras" that fit this oven and I used them for making eggs (baked ~ both hard-boiled and soft-boiled) and I made some great crispy bacon at the same time (notice "not fried in its own grease" but I did need to wipe out the bowl and clean it because I forgot to use a drip pan). I mention this since having little space to work in and little room for appliances, I think this is the one appliance I no longer would want to do without. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner items all are simple, easy, and healthier.Overall, I'm impressed and pleased with my purchase. If I had a "want" it would be to have a more thorough cookbook on how to cook household items. I highly recommend this for "small room" cooks and even for those who don't want to heat up the big oven and waste a lot of heat and energy.

Great for 5 months, than an extra $10 for the replacement
After using a competitors oven that burned out after 3 months (timer burned out) and would not warranty the POS we saw this one on Amazon with a 12 month warranty. Love the oven, we use it 2x almost every day but it only lasted 5 months before the halogen bulb stopped working. sharper image will send you a brand new one for $9.95 which is the shipping cost or you can return the lid to them and they will replace it (probably reman) but you still have to pay to ship it to them. I chose to get a new one for the $10, I think it is wort it. The phone number for warranty service is (800) 253-4785. Hope this saves you time if you have to call them. Over all this is a great product for quick meals, you dont have to clean it after every use just empty the juice/fat into a old milk jug or container while it is still WARM and wipe off the grill/bowl with a paper towel. Before cooking spray some olive oil on the grill and cook. Thawed chicken breast on 400f for 4 minutes a side (I Turn ours) Steaks about 6-7 minutes a side. I bought a cheap digital timer that I prefer over the dial on the oven, it is more accurate so you get consistant cooking times and your food gets cooked the way you want it without being overcooked. I would also suggest getting a lid stand, we picked up a little chrome metal stand for pictires or mail at the dolar store and put the lid on it when flipping or serving our food (should come with it). I think the food is much healthier because the fat falls off and the food is very juicy. I also warm up left over pizza in the oven, comes out crispy and melted, YUM. I hardly use pans anymore... Well worth 110-120 a year, I easily saved that in 2 weeks not eating out.

My five star now one star. Zero if I could.
I left my original review below. Nevertheless it is irrelevant given that this product ceased to work in less than ten days. Great while it lasted. Used PRECISELY as directed. I did notice that the wash cycle was probably splashing water into places that it should not.In point of fact, when a product ceases to work after such a short period of time, it deserves zero stars.----------------------------------------------------------------Quality product and well priced. It does what it is intended to do - as it is intended to do it. I would buy it again. I would recommend it to a friend with the following caveats:1. This device is not going to turn you into Julia Child or Bobby Flay. If your cooking sucks it will continue to suck. In fact, it might get suckier.2. There is a learning curve. I made spectacular baked ziti. I also had a misadventure with buttermilk corn bread that approximated an early experiment from "The Fly" when matter was first transported between two telepods. The final result was a mix of carbon, concrete and primordial ooze.3. The device is awkward. You need to figure out what to do with the hot top while you are inspecting, turning or removing cooked food. Moreover, reaching down and into the bowl to add or remove stuff is not what most people are accustomed to.Being adventurous and expecting some disasters is the best way to achieve some masterpieces. You need a good pair of oven mitts. An instant read thermometer is a very good idea. One way to get accustomed to this thing is to lower recipe temperatures by 50 degrees and then cook as directed. Food on the top rack is going to broil and brown accordingly - or burn if you are inept. The best result for most dishes is achieved by placing the food directly on the rack but the glass bowl is easy to clean. It is nice having something that doesn't smell, smoke or heat up my small condo. Convection cooking not only speeds things up but distributes flavors. Put some garlic and herbs inside a chicken and the flavors will infuse the legs. Convection also produces consistently even results. Halogen browns things very nicely. Unmentioned is that setting about a third between "Off" and "Thaw" is perfect for proofing yeast or rising dough. Conclusion: This has the potential to turn out a wide variety of very good food. Leave it out and plugged in and you will enjoy it every day. Put it in a cupboard and it will likely stay there.

Think carefully before buying this kind of oven in general
It stripped my circuit breaker so often that I have safety concern for using it. We use the same outlet for a 1200W Ninja blender but nothing happens when we use the blender. My mom always cleans everything after she finishes cooking and the glass part is way too heavy for that. (Actually she saw my sister using it and kept whining so I had to buy one). It is convenient and cook foods nicely without mess on your counter but if you clean it every single time using it, you might end up putting it away or selling it like what we did.

I use it 5 days out of 7 and love everything that I bake in it
I used it 5 days out of 7 and loved everything that I bake in it over the last 3 months. I would buy it again for sure but only at a brick and mortar store that offered a warranty of replacement. The halogen light will die, the question is just when. I can't afford to throw away something every 3 months, but if I have a replacement warranty for 1 or 2 years, that would be a game changer.

Must have cooker!
Finally getting down to doing a review for this cooker after using it for over 2 years . This thing has been simply perfect. Cooks fast and is more efficient. Great for warming baked or deep fried foods. Easy to clean as well. This is a better model than the previous one that my wife and I owned. The halogen heating technology cooks much faster and had been rock solid. We absolutely love this thing!

Pleased with unit
Pleased with unit. The light is very bright and annoying. It does not cook as fast as promised but the results were good. What is not good is the halogen light that now has stopped working. I have had this unit for less than a month and this is totally not acceptable.

Even though it's working well, I still cannot make ...
Even though it's working well, I still cannot make French fries due to the fact that it did not come with the mesh basket. I've tried using another one from Walmart, but got rusted when washing it. It should have the mesh basket included.
