Thin and unoriginal
I admit "pure" romance is not my preferred genre but I admire Bella Andre's business acumen and success as an indie author. I wanted to see what it is about her writing that is so adored by her legions of fans. I confess, I remain puzzled.Even allowing for this being a novella, the plot was thin and characters especially shallow. I learned little about Derek, except that he drove a Porsche while being on the brink of closing his business. Meanwhile, Callie was a caricature, sporting a Dolly Parton figure, bizarre dress sense and a history of poor taste in men.My disappointment was sealed through the lack of quality control in the book; I have heard Ms. Andre claim to use multiple proofreaders, yet errors persisted here. The most memorable was in an early sex scene where our hero apparently felt the need for two condoms. More than a little distracting.

Fast read
This was a very quick read and a very fast paced story. Guy meets girl at wedding, they have passionate sex in a walk in refrigerator. He meets up with her the next day and have two more rounds of sex before he becomes her business consultant. He saves her business, they have more sex, she saves his dream business, more sex, lets get married. Just too fast, no character build up, no depth.

An Awesome Read!
I really enjoyed reading this book about a candy store with Callie & Derek. Callie owns a candy store in Saratoga Springs NY and she's struggling and if she doesn't come up with a new twist she'll have to close her shop. She only has the best job in the world making candy and she's very good at it, her truffles are to die for. In fact she's at a wedding now and the bride and groom purchased truffles and served them on all the tables, and the guests can't get enough of them. Callie is very happy for the new bride and groom, but her mind is not on celebrating its on her failing business, in fact she's so distraught she walks up to the bar and says I'll take anything strong in the form of alcohol. Now Callie doesn't drink, but theirs an extremely attractive gentleman already at the bar, that she's drooling over and he tells the bartender to give her a shot of tequila. She takes a sip and says are you trying to kill me, that's disgusting! Derek says you have to drink it the right way, so he lowers her jersey dress exposing her gorgeous neck proceeds to drop salt on it, then he sticks the lime wedge flesh out in her mouth, bends down and licks the salt off her neck, picks up the shot and downs it, then moves to her lips and sucks the lime juice out and drops the rind in the glass. Callie is on fire, and she vows to herself to show him how it's done, she walks her finger up his chest to his bow tie, then walks her other finger up his hand, and unhooked the cuff-link and let's it drop to the floor and rolls the cuff back. Places the salt on the palm of his hand, places the lime in his mouth flesh pointing out, licks the salt off his palm, downs the shot and then sucks the juice of the lime in his mouth. Not only is Callie on fire, but so is Derek she's so hot, that he wants more of her. When Callie looks up, she realizes she's in major trouble with the hottie, but she's also embarrassed she's never acted this way before and she's ashamed. Just as the bride and groom call for the best-man, everybody turns around and is witnessing the sucking of the lime and they are mesmerized, Callie looks up and takes off running. Derek is unable to run after her because its time to toast the bride and groom. Read this book, the tequila scene is explosive, and will make you cum a lot. The book will make you laugh, and cry and of course cum a lot. Enjoy reading it!

Not Sold On The Love Between These Two
So, Callie and Derek hook up at a wedding, and then by some bizarre circumstance he ends up being the consultant for her candy shop. How should they handle this awkward turn of events? To be honest, this has none of the depth of Ms. Andre's usual writing. The development of the love story between Callie and Derek seems to be more about chemical reactions that actual depth of feeling. It felt stilted. As if the characters were doing what they were doing because they were supposed to be doing them at that point in the story, especially at the point where the conflict arises (the dinner party scene). It felt like Derek was supposed to get mad and act like a tool, and he does, and Callie is supposed to get hurt, and she does. It felt forced and flat. This is not Bella Andre's best work, so if you are using this to sample her work do try another one of her shorts. This only gets two stars because her writing, though it felt forced and rushed, is still skilful enough to coax you into finishing it.NOT RECOMMENDED.

Candy store
I'm a little confused by this one. It could have been a really good book, if it was given the growth it deserved. It had a story line, but was told at such a rapid speed there was no time for character or relationship development. It's as though it was churned out as fast as possible. Currently it's £2.99 it took me an hour and 45 mins to read. Outlandish price for such a short book and definitely, for this story not worth the money at all! Also there is such an obvious mistake in the first love scene i don't know how it was overlooked unless it wasn't edited, he puts the condom on twice!!

Ok read
Ok read, a little flakey and I felt a bit like a mills and boon book.I thought the first couple of chapters were good and then after that it went a bit stale with no grit to the story and just Derek sulking and walking out a lot and not listening to his girlfriend. Also found myself getting annoyed with Callie for being a bit wet and not putting Derek in his place more often despite her being in love with him, this could be done - she needs to grow a backbone.Several typos too which don't repay detract but are annoying.Book was ok and kept me reading but I was hoping for it to be better.

A short story!
This is a sweet short story about two people who love candy, Callie is losing money with her business, so her accountant has made her being in the Candy King. Derek is best man at his grid wedding when he bumps in to Callie at the bar, they play a game then she runs away, he goes looking for her & they have sex. They both go their separate ways. Till they find out they are working with each other!

Sizzling sex
Unfortunately not much of anything else. The tequila scene was really hot but that was at the beginning of the book and it went downhill from there. A very quick read. Not enough information to endear either of the leads to you and in the end Derek seemed childlike running off having a tantrum and Callie pathetic for taking his crap. Neither could be described a strong characters which in my opinion every good book needs at least one. There is also the serious problem with the editing that needs looking at, if only for the fact that Derek took out a condom from his wallet and slipped it on TWICE. Safe sex? Surely thats overkill.

pretty good
I liked the premise of the book and the first half of the book. I felt it was rushed in places and the character development was lacking in some areas. I was disappointed that the author didn't spend any time exploring the relationship between the main characters. Also the female lead was a bit weak- allowing the male to get away with far to much. As I said the first few chapters were really good, but the book was let down by the last few chapters.
