Review: Very nice punches - I have never heard of punches that worked with a drill but saw these and thought they might work well on soft materials like rubber and so forth. I used the 1/4" punch on a on seal made of silicone material and it worked perfectly: Just used my 1/4" drill, applied some pressure and it made a perfect hole. All punches in the set I received are sharp.

The experience was riveting... ;) So, I'm using this(specifically the .5") to punch holes to add extra grommets to a 20mil heavy duty poly-somethingOrOther tarp that I recently purchased. Decided on using some dollar store "roll up" cutting boards (cut to one inch squares) as reinforcement material on either side of the grommet. As a test I cut out a piece of cutting board, put a piece of cardboard box under it and hit the trigger on my cheap little cordless drill. Got some resistance in under a second and thought to myself that maybe this wasn't cutting the plastic as easily as I'd hoped it would. Oh yeah, it cut the plastic alright, and the cardboard. That resistance was the top of my little wooden fold out table that I use as a work bench. Didn't even feel it, and it cut a nice 1/16" deep circle in the wood on the table top. Conclusion, these things are awesome. They're also razor sharp, so keep your fingers out of the way. Would certainly work for leather, denim, or any other thick or tough material up to 1/16", excluding metal.

**Q: Do you have to have a drill press?**
A: While a drill press is best you could use a hand drill; but you will need to lay your weight onto the drill if by hand. These bit need quite a bit of pressure. Your hand drill will also need to be reasonably powerful.

**Q: Will these cut through 6 layers of canvas cloth ?**
A: Yes, I use them to roto punch leather and they work well. Canvas ( pulled tight) should not be an issue.

**Q: Do they come in a case?**
A: No it did not come with case.

**Q: Will this drill holes in a thick parasol canopy fabric?  I need to pre-drill 3/8" hole in order to add a grommet to it.  thx**
A: I would think it would handle that as I’ve made holes in an 1/8 inch plastic steel enforced mat
