Review: Great Rear Bag! - Very solid rear bag. High quality, durable leather and stitching. I recommend using a baseball glove conditioner (Wilson's Pro Stock Glove Conditioner worked well for me) to soften the leather. That will allow even more precise elevation control by squeezing the bag or ears. It is a bit heavy. Mine weighs in at 6 lbs 10.5 oz. Expect that extra weight when you pack for your next range trip. Consider the height of your front rest when buying this or other Protektor rear bags. I found this worked will with a bipod out front, but it was too high when using the Caldwell Tack Driver front bag.

**Q: Is this 13 or 13b?**
A: That rear rest bag is #13B.  The Custom #13B Rabbit Ear Rear Bag is same as the #13A but 1" taller and has double thickness leather sidewalls. Bag Size: 3 3/4" Tall.  If you are tall (long torso) this bag is just right for you.  Either one can be further adjusted for height by putting it on a square piece of wood ... I glued sandpaper on both sides of my wood block to keep things from slipping.  This is a top quality product and will last you a lifetime.  You can't go wrong!

**Q: What kind of sand is in this bag play sand or black chromite sand?**
A: I don't know what kind of sand is in the bag. Bag works great for me.

**Q: The Pretektor website doesn’t list a 13f, so does the f just stand for filled?**
A: Yes, the F stands for Filled.

**Q: is it realtively easy to adjust the amount of sand within this rest?**
A: Adjusting the amount of sand is easy, a small funnel will make it quicker, but if you are adjusting than no need.  FWIW - I have removed the sand from my Protektor bags and went with the heavy sand (Chromite - See article at Accurate shooter search site "Heavy Sand", almost double the weight).  Replacing sand is another story, it takes time as you are pretty much watching the whole bag empty through a small opening (small funnel makes this much easier - BTW)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I truly like this bag

I truly like this bag. I had to remove(and save) some sand from the ears to accommodate my '67 Anschutz' bench stock. That took about five minutes, and it was well worth the minimal effort. This is a quality bag in every respect. The leather is top drawer, and the stitching is perfect. My great grandkids will be able to enjoy it! It is an extremely stable platform. If you need a competition quality bag to use with a mechanical rest, this one very might well be your huckleberry. I shoot competition, and I have always used Protektor front bags, on and off of a Caldwell competition rest. One of the competitions in which I shoot doesn't allow mechanical rests because of my success with the Caldwell rest, so I beat them with just the Protector bags. You really don't get much better than Protector bags, at least I haven't found any.
