5.11 Men's Military Tactical Field Ops Watch, Style 59245

I bought this watch as a gift for my husband who is a fireman in AZ. Prior to buying a watch, I researched several different makes and models. I settled on this one after reading reviews. The conditions where we live are harsh and the watch gets a lot of abuse. It holds up like a champion and is a really great choice for those who work in protective service. It also has a lot of fun options that really come in handy in the field. He gets a lot of compliments on the watch and always thanks me for it.Update May 2013: The watch failed. Condensation was collecting as if there was a leak in the watch however the face and seal appear to be intact. The watch has never been under water, has never been bashed, banked, exposed to chemicals or mistreated in a way to cause a seal to fail. I called 5.11 tactical customer service who were not polite on the phone. They advised AMAZON IS NOT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY WILL NOT COVER WATCHES SOLD BY AMAZON "because we don't knwo where they really came from.....". Also, watches that are over 2 years old (ours is 2 years 5 months!!) are no longer covered by warranty. Bottom line- a watch from target that was 1/4 the price has outlasted this watch. What a waste and poor customer service. Maybe these watches used to be made better or we simply got a defective piece. Either way, we are out about $200 and have a junk watch.

I got this watch as a gift from my wife about a year ago. Very nice looking when I got it was very excited, but My personal suggestion is Do Not buy it. After a year of regular normal use it broke due to water or condensation formed inside (not very "tactical" if you can't get it wet in my opinion). as a product this watch is poor, cheap Chinese product, the layout and order of the buttons and functions is "fair" at best but not very intuitive. I will try and send it to repair as this was a fathers day present from my wife but between you and me is not worth the money.Update. I sent the watch to repair cost 140$ I believe to fix, took about 18 days to get back. It was fixed and now it works but I just can't trust the watch ,I keep using it some days as my wife gave it to me and holds special value to me but I stand to my original review of 1 star and my advice still is not to buy this watch.

I had one for a few years that required the battery to be replaced and a new band. Figured I would purchase a new one from Amazon. The first one that arrived did so with a defective battery. Amazon shipped out a replacement and it too had a bad battery (face would go blank if you turned on the light). I explained to Amazon that I was batting 0-2 and the promised to inspect the next one before it shipped. But guess what? The third one that arrived was completely dead - no power whatsoever. There appears to be zero quality control or these watches have been sitting in the Amazon warehouse for many, many years.

I wrote a couple of months ago that the watch was great. Unfortunately, this weekend I got a cleaner machine for my watches and jewelry. I used this machine for the Kenneth Cole 3 ATM watches, no problem, I used it for many watches, I own 47 watches, the only one that the water filtered in was the 5.11. I managed after hours of work to make it work, but the light function went dead. This is a tuff watch, why would the water get it? that I cannot answer, it has never been opened, it has never been tampered with, it has only been used as specs specify.I feel I was cheated on, I feel that I paid a lot of money for a piece of bad machinery. I will not buy 5.11 again, and I recommend to anybody thinking to do so, to reconsider.Thank you

5.11_Please step up the game on this one. If you build it, they will come to buy it. I'll be first in line.Join that sweet ballistics software with a high quality case, solar power, and a Japanese or Swiss Quartz movement.Call up Tissot, Citizen, or maybe even Torgoen (they are growing), and get a partnership going already. Their quality is tactical. Get with a company that knows how to make good watches having complimentary and proven (recognized and patent honored) technologies.We are watching and waiting.Review:Cool watch bag-But, the watch didn't work right out of the box. No display to speak of.Unless of course there is some secret to turning it on. If there is, there were no instructions provided to that end.Will be returning for refund. I feel like I dodged a buyers-remorse bullet on this one. I've heard these don't hold up well in the field. Its no G-Shock. A G-Shock really isn't that impressive in my book. It is a watch. But, it seems to function well under duress. There are a lot of $50-$100 watches that will do the same.I would pay three times as much for a durable/reliable watch with a different type of power source, and all of the different functions the EDC claims (ballistics software). I'll have to wait I suppose.

I have been looking forward to getting one of these watches for almost two years. I love the design and concept. I am now very upset that the watch came to me with a dead battery and I cannot use it. What happened to quality control? I am very dissapointed with this and can't do anything about it other than sending it to the manufacturer and paying to have the battery replaced. I would love to do a better review but can't considering the current state of the battery.

I usually love 5.11 products and this was my first tactical watch. After one year the watch died, ok I guess that's normal. When I replace the battery it works for a total of 1 mo th and then does not work ever again.
