HP Z24i 24 Inch WideScreen 1920x1200 IPS LED-backlit LCD Monitor (D7P53A4) with USB Hub Monitor Black

After reading lots of reviews on lots of monitors, I decided on two of these to replace my very old 21" Samsung Syncmaster 213t monitors, which were starting to fade unevenly. With some concern for color accuracy, I do a lot of photo editing and some video editing, so I debated going to wide gamut monitors, but because I also do a significant amount of non-image computer work like CAD, and not being a professional needing to match to printers, etc, decided to go with regular sRGB monitors. I am not a gamer, so I don't care about instantaneous response, though video on these looks fine. I use two monitors just for the screen real estate, and I did not want to lose the 1200 pixel height I already had.The monitors arrived in perfect condition with no dead pixels. As you would expect with IPS panels, the viewing angle is good, with no visible variation from any reasonable vantage point. To my eyes, with a variety of images, the color balance of the two monitors is identical right out of the box, driving both monitors with DVI from an inexpensive NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 dual DVI video card. Comparing with gray scale reference cards, I detect no color cast. Are these monitors perfect? Not quite, but in this price range, close enough. With a black image in a dark room, I can see some IPS glow in the corners, but this is not apparent in any real work. There is a slightly bright area when displaying almost-white near the lower right corner right on the bottom edge of one of the monitors, which I expect is a slight flaw in the edge of the backlight. This is a few pixels about the size of a pin head right on the edge. If I look carefully, a pure white image is slightly less bright in some of the corners, but I have to be looking for it. There are reviews all over the web complaining about these kinds of flaws in every brand of IPS monitor in this price range. But keep in mind these are 24 inch IPS 1920x1200 monitors for less than $300 each. Had I paid $1000, it would have been 4 stars because of the slight flaws I mentioned, which you truly have to go looking for. Or maybe I just got lucky...

I already had a pair of these Z24 (black) HD monitors at work (my desk at HP R&D facility) and was finally invited to purchase a pair for my HP Work-At-Home desk, so I did. I was shipped a pair of the 324i monitor, a bit fancier update nearly frameless on sides & top, but in silver. Not sure whose mixup but am happy with the upgrade in any color. I doubt there's a better 24" HD monitor for $300 each.

Bought 2 of these. For a business monitor it is just fine. The picture on my old HP 2465 looks better to my eyes, but perhaps just used to that after 8 years. The 2465 is a S-PVA panel.

Poor quality, Poor performance

Had it replaced 3 times for back-light lit issues.

This monitor has been absolutely amazing - I did give it four stars for gaming only because I'd buy something bigger for that, but it has a great picture and functions perfectly.

This is one of the best monitors that I had, excellent resolution and they have a dual stand.

I have a number of these at home and they have been good monitors for video creation and gaming. Use it for WOWS and Helldivers II.
