Perfect companion for the Vantrue X2
Ordered one of these for my Vantrue X2 dashcam. The form factor is great as it's barely any larger than the regular Vantrue suction cup mount, and works the same way: the antenna is rotated 90 degrees until it's pointing straight up in order to "lock" the suction cup in place. It's actually better than the standard mount in one other respect: the USB port is on the top of the GPS antenna, meaning you don't need a cable with a right-angle connector as the port points toward the top of the windshield. In my testing, the GPS took a bit more time to lock onto satellites and start recording position than I would have liked, but it's not a deal breaker. Still, give it a few minutes to ensure you see the satellite icon change from gray to orange on the dashcam's screen. The GPS stamp displayed by the camera also includes your speed in either MPH or KPH units of measure (selectable in the menus). It's all or nothing -- you either get coordinates and speed together, or neither -- but you can turn this part of the stamp off independent of other parts like the date/time, plate number, brand name, etc.I use Registrator Viewer to load and display the footage and all GPS information is recorded and displayed correctly using this software. Great for road trips so you can see where you've been, click on the map and immediately pull up the footage from that exact location. The first GPS mount I received had a strange issue where it kept toggling the charging circuitry of my camera on and off. Vantrue was great about sending me a replacement mount, which works flawlessly. A+ service like this ensures that I'll continue to consider Vantrue products in the future!

Works Great for the first two months
I bought this as a replacement for my Vantrue X2 mount that I have had for about a year. The mount had gotten loose to the point where it wouldn't hold the dash cam steady while driving anymore. Less than two months after buying this new mount it's even worse than my old one. If you are having the same issue I do not recommend buying this

Went part to a non-GPS adapter (the one that came with the dashcam) and everything works great. Also the GPS data takes a lot of ...
Used this GPS mount a little less then a year for the first 6 months everything was OK but then I started getting problems with my R2 camera shutting done at random times. I removed the power and plugged it back in and the camera restarted. In the last few months the shutdown started happening about every one to two minutes. Changed the USB cable, changed the cable again with two USB ends to use a USB adapter, changed power ports on the car but with all of these changes still had the same shutdown problem. Went part to a non-GPS adapter (the one that came with the dashcam) and everything works great. Also the GPS data takes a lot of space on the data card, significantly limits the number of hours of video before old data is written over.

It's a great mount!
I don't understand why it does not come with the dash cams and you have to buy it separately but it is what it is... Except that I love it. With the gps mount on, the camera shows gps coordinates speed and it also uses the time of the location you are at. I am a commercial driver and for me those things are a must have. In case of an unfortunate event it's the best thing to have on your Vantrue dash cam

Excellent Equipment (+1 value sold separately)
Pros: The unit was easy to switch out with the mount that comes with the X2 Camera. It works as intended, so it's hard to complain about much except...... Cons: Sold separately? This isn't a huge deal, but goodness, just make it part of the camera package. Finally, you have to actually enable to the GPS functions within the menu of the camera. Why the camera can't simply detect the GPS mount is beyond me, but in any case if the camera came WITH the GPS unit then the camera could just assume there is GPS data anyway.Other Thoughts: The USB port for the mount that comes in the camera box is on the side of the unit; the USB for the GPS mount is on the top. No idea why the difference in design. It's not really a pro or a con, but rather just a small gripe as it forced me to rearrange my wiring after switching it out with the mount that came with the camera itself. Again, could be alleviated if they just included the GPS with the camera in the first place.

This was my 2nd GPS mount for the N2 Dash cam that replaced a defective one. This one would not physically fit the N2. Sending it back.

Does Not Hold Camera in Position after 2 months. Would Not Buy
I've only used this mount for ~3 months and it's already useless. There is no way to tighten the pivot point so the camera does not stay where you point it. Any braking or turns will cause the camera to move. Also, the power connection is already starting to go which causes the camera to turn off at random times. Would not buy again

A good addition to Vantrue X2 dash cam
I think it is a good addition to Vantrue X2 dash cam I purchased previously. There are a few time that Vantrue X2 lost its current date/time setting after I did not drive my car for several days before using this GPS mount and I needed to set the date/time each time it loose it. This GPS mount reset the correct date/time for the dash cam when it starts up.There was a shipping problem after the item arrived in the U.S. (according to the tracking number) but Jason in Vantrue support did an excellent job fixing the problem for me.
