Good little camera for the price
The media could not be loaded. Quite a few reviews say this camera is not waterproof, but I haven't had any issues with that at all. I've used it quite a bit the past few months - in the ocean, a river, a lake, at the beach, etc - and haven't experienced any trouble. I do make sure that the rubber seal is in good condition and that there are no foreign bodies inhibiting the closure, which is what the manual says you should to (and is common sense). I am quite pleased with the picture quality. I have a very nice Canon with an expensive lens to compare it to so the pictures of course aren't National Geographic quality, but for what this camera is and the price I think the pictures turn out quite nice. The video quality could be better, but again for the price I'm happy with it. You can sometimes hear the mechanical noises from the camera in the video, but I've had that with every camera that I've videotaped with. There are actually LOTS of settings on this little camera! I was pleasantly surprised. There are 9 different modes to take picture/video, plus 13 options under "scene mode" (portrait, soft skin, scenery, night portrait, night scenery, food, baby 1, baby 2, pet, sunset, high sensitivity, starry sky, glass through), plus under "creative control" there are 12 options (expressive, retro, high key, low key, sepia, dynamic monochrome, impressive art, high dynamic, cross process, toy effect, miniature effect, one point color). I don't think there is any other underwater camera with this many options, unless to get into the $500+ category. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and plan to use it quite frequently.

Its small!
I'm checking 5 stars because I love Lumix but just ordered and haven't received this yet, I've had Lumix for years and loved the size and convenience and wonderful quality of the pictures. It picked up colors that my phone camera just couldn't. Alas, I dropped my sweet little camera in the ocean a few weeks ago, so now I'm getting a waterproof one!! I've shopped and read until my brain was about to explode and decided on this little beauty. Can't wait to get it!!!!! I'll let you know if it lives up to my experience with Lumix.I received my new Lumix just in time for a play our grandson was going to be in. I was surprised at how small this is, it will go anywhere in a pocket or a purse. The pictures seemed to be of good quality and the colors were nice and bright. I was able to take video and got good picture as well as good sound. I have two concerns, one is the location of the aperture location is in a place that is natrual to hold the camera with the left hand, of course that means fingers in the picture, so that's something I'll have to learn to watch out for. And the zoom, I tried to zoom in on my grandson, which the camera did, but it was very grainy and slightly out of focus. It was indoors and maybe the lighting was not good enough for a better shot. That being said, I think I'll enjoy this little camera.

First one leaked, second one is fine so far....
I've had LUMIX cameras for almost 15 years now and love the quality and styling of them. I got my first waterproof LUMIX 6 years ago, but the screen stopped working recently - it was time to shop for a new one. I loved having one camera I could bring anywhere, for every activity, that could handle the drops and abuse from me and my young daughter. Though there were mixed reviews for this version (DMC-TS30A), I bought it bc of the price and great experiences with my old LUMIX cameras. Sure enough, the first one I got leaked somehow (though I followed the instructions exactly) and the lens, flash, and screen fogged up after the first use in the water. I was on vacation so didn't have the option to return and get a new one. I let it "bake" in the sun and the fog cleared, but it returned over and over. Once home, I returned the foggy one and ordered a new one. Thanks Amazon for making the return so easy and fast. This replacement seems fine - I'm being extra mindful of keeping the door dry and sealed. I've used it underwater several times and so far so good...clearly this version of the LUMIX waterproof cameras has some leakage issues (my experience and those of other reviewers), but if you don't mind returning and replacing if needed, it's a great buy. I purposely ordered w Amazon as my seller in case I had leakage issues. I would definitely recommend to others to do the same bc of their easy returns/exchanges.It produces crisp photos, has a great focal range, and decent clarity in low light. It's small (thinner and lighter than previous versions) and easy to tote around in your pocket. Relatively inexpensive camera for everyday use (in or out of the water).

Tough Camera
I first purchased the TS-25 model in 2014. Takes great pictures especially under water. It got banged up a bit and still kept working great. Finally my 4yo dropped it in the shallow end of the pool and it stopped working. Knowing my son's pool party was coming up I panicked and ordered the newer TS-30 model. I tried to resurrect the TS-25 by removing the battery and drying it and left the camera open over night to let the inside dry. Two days later, it worked and kept working for another 4 years. Yesterday my 7 yo dropped it again in the shallow end of the pool. I did the same, removed battery and let it dry. Now it doesn't stay on for more than 2 pictures but I can't complain because it lasted 4 years incident free through pool, beach, being banged, and dropped numerous times. I'm not giving up on it just yet but I am ordering the newer model to have it for the summer along with a camera floating wrist band to prevent it from being dropped in the pool again. I strongly recommend purchasing this waterproof camera.
