Mid Century reproduction Starburst clock is beautiful!
I am in love with this clock! I recall one in an office my mom worked in when I was little, and always wanted one. This is a great reproduction of what I remember. The clock was shipped carefully. It had a sturdy cardboard box which had two screws on the back to hold it in place. So no damage whatsoever to any of the rays. Yes, you have to remove the protective plastic from each ray. My clock came assembled, but removing the plastic carefully was not a problem. I did notice the clock face cover and some of the rays moved a bit. Considering you are not going to be doing the shimmy with it, it stays stationary on a wall; I am not concerned. On the back of the box are instructions for battery placement, and returns. Easy peasy. It runs quietly, which is a big plus. I have a small table clock next to my bed that is so loud in comparison. As of now, it is keeping perfect time. I can see the clock face just fine, however, where you see it in the pictures is probably not it's final place. All in all, I love the clock. I feel for the price, eh, maybe should be a little less, but I am more than happy with my purchase. This clock would look great in any room or office. The size of the clock is perfect.

Beautiful 50's era clock. Fragile rays but gorgeous.
This clock is a great alternative to the $500-$1k+ real ones you can buy used (which I would love to have but can't justify the cost right now). It's a good size and looks gorgeous up. Very Mad Men era. However, note that the sunburst rays are *very* fragile. They are metal but so thin and so very lightly attached that If the clock were to fall or if you had someone try to dust it who didn't know, they would definitely bend. They came with this odd plastic film on them, probably for protection. Another reviewer mentioned removing the film before attaching the spokes - but um, mine came with spokes already attached! It wasn't really that hard to get the film off, but it wasn't super easy. I hung the clock then had someone else hold on to the center while I slowly peeled each off. It looked much cleaner after removal. The ticking is very, very quiet. I love this clock. :)

Great looking clock
I really do like my Kirch Clock, it looks perfect and has kept perfect timeover the several years I have used it. However, this last time change (Grrrr) the hour hand got off track. The minute hand is fine but but at the hour straight up, the hour hand is still half way between the two numbers. But it is still beautiful to look at.

Reflecting glass makes it hard to see the time
Bought this for nostalgia. Grew up with a similar plug in clock which I wish we would have kept. Bought this as a replacement. I have to say that the glass cover on the dial along with the dark clock face made it hard to see the time. I ended up removing the glass and now it is easier to see. If I ever bought another of these I would have it have a white face with no glass like our original was.The sunburst looks beautiful. Glass is off in photos.

Almost perfect ...
This is a beautiful starburst clock for the price ... except you can't read the time since the glass face gives off a huge glare. Solution: We removed the glass face using a small sized flathead screwdriver to pry off the little clips holding the ring that holds the glass in place. Success! Beautiful and functional!

Great addition to a mid century living room!
We just bought a home built in 1960 and decided that nothing was coming into the front room that wasn't authentic 1960s. High on our wish list was a Sunburst clock! I checked out the prices on the original ones and couldn't believe how much people were asking for them! Didn't everybody's aunt and uncle and grandparents have one of these in their front room? If only I had saved one of them! This was a really good alternative to buying an original one. It is very light weight like some of the other reviewers have mentioned. But it looks just great on the wall. It is easy to tell the time from any angle. And it is a great decorating piece, really setting the tone for the whole room. We have gotten many compliments on it. I definitely recommend this clock to anyone looking for that authentic mid century modern feel!
