They do not make a no signal situation better, you must get your antenna high enough, pointed properly, with no obstructions to get a signal in the first place. In short, this prevents line loss, from long cable lengths. Yes, it works. Without it on, I don't have enough signal at my TVs to receive any stations, long cables... With it on, I can get a lock on about 18 watchable stations. The booster does it's job. Hopefully it will last, only time will tell. ### ⭐ Works worse when installed without any other TVs connected *by R***W on October 19, 2021* I have a Yagi antenna installed in my attic. A cable runs from it, down to the crawlspace and up to my home theater box. I live in a moderate sized metropolitan area, about 5 miles from most of the TV antennas. The Yagi is fixed, no rotation. I get all of the major affiliates and 5 SD channels. I don't know if they are broadcast locally or from a nearby small town. I ran a power line for an outlet for the power supply. I attached the splitter to a stud, connected the antenna to the splitter input, plugged in the power line and connected the down line to connector 1. The picture on the main TV in the family room, with no other TV connected to the splitter, was clear for the local major channels. None of the SD channels were there, no pixelated reception, nothing. I swapped out the cable between the antenna and splitter for another cable. It was the same result, no SD channels that had been crystal clear before adding the splitter. I switched the down cable to be directly on the Yagi antenna again and all of the SD channels returned. I put the down cable back on the splitter and used a 3rd cable between the Yagi antenna and the splitter input. There was no difference, none of the SD channels were there. All 3 cables I used between the Yagi antenna and the splitter were RG58, 18 AWG cables. Two were from the cable company and the other one was from a different company. All were from sealed plastic bags, having never been used. I didn't expect miracles but I didn't expect the "amplifier" to make reception worse than without it.
