LG Electronics 50LF6100 50-Inch 1080p Smart LED TV (2015 Model)

First off this is a 120hz tv in all 3 sizes. Because it is a backlit tv the blacks are actually black not a dark gray. I purchased the popular cheetah mount on amazon I read that it covers up some ports on the back I did not have this problem all ports have plenty of room away from this mount and it fits very well. It came with a basic lg remote but it gets the job done you can always get another remote but i am satified with it. Like most led tvs it performs great in rooms with a lot of light, the screen actually has a dull coat on it (unlike my new Samsung which has a glossy coat) I do notice this helps a bit with glare when the tv is off but when they are on don't see much of a glare in either. The factory picture setting are much better then expected I adjusted mine to my liking but factory settings especially dynamic look great. I have not noticed any lag in Netflix or YouTube just make sure you have a strong signal or hardwire your tv. Smart functions are basic but work well. The picture quality all around is very impressive(I do not have it next to my Samsung which I paid double the price for but going from room to room it is very comparable). I've read some people are disappointed with the sound but they are 20w speakers which sound good for a slim tv. I have watched sports and played video games on it and have not experienced any lag or ghosting (in sport mode). All around a great tv for the price very happy with this purchase and I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I have.FYI Parham who has posted pictures of an lg tv on here is reviewing the wrong tv because this is a smart tv and his picture is of a different lg tv

First packaging was excellent - only had a small tear on corner. No cause for concern as the TV is protected very will in the box.Hooking the TV up was very simple - if not mechanically savvy- no worries - Instructions easy to read. Also having 3 HMI ports is GREAT for the price of this TV. Usually you will pay much more to have that option. The picture quality is amazing - had to custom the picture just a little.Netflix and YouTube works great. Ensure there is a strong signal or hardwire the tv. Smart functions are basic but work well. The sound works fine for me. I do have a sound system attached to it when I want to watch scary movies as if I am in a theater. But for the most part I use the 20W speakers.Sport mode works great, no ghosting or lagging. Video games display great too.For the price I paid - I am 95% happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others. I did not give it a 100% as I marked down due to the remote not lighting up in the dark and IR receiver could be better.Pros- Installation / hook up is easy- 3 HMI ports- Picture quality Great! Colors and definition; impressive- TV has the MGO and Vudu apps that allow you to access the latest movies.Cons - The IR receiver could be better, finding the correct angle is key - The remote it comes with does not have a black light - The stand does not swivel.

Ordered this set using Amazon Prime and received the item on time and in perfect condition. Let me start by saying that this set is an amazing value at this price point for the quality of product LG has created. I've only had the set for about 24 hours, but I'm having a great time using it so far.I will update this review as I have more time with the TV. A few Pros/Cons I've noticed so far:Pros - Great picture once you customize the settings a bit - Easy step by step setup at initial power on - Network integration is great if you're hosting video/audio files on the home network - 3 HDMI ports is rare at this price pointCons - the IR receiver is average at best - The remote it comes with does not have any "Smart Remote" capabilities - Does not have a swivel stand

Another update:I had to have the internal components changed because the tv was not turning on, this was after one month of using it. I am no longer having problems with the on off issue but it appears the quality of the picture is not as good even though I used the exact settings I used when originally set up the tv. I am assuming this has to do with the replacement internal components which were most likely not GE products but cheap replacement parts.I am very unhappy with this being the case, I should really get a new tv with original parts as it is not my fault the original equipment failed within on month of purchase. I bought this tv in good faith and I am not at all satisfied with the replacement parts as the original picture was outstanding, now it is not close to what it was.I bought this tv for $595 now I find a few months later it is down to $469 or lower and nothing I can do about that, a bit irritating as well.As a prime member I am getting less and less satisfied with Amazon for one other issue.New update on my tv. I have a basic remote control with new batteries, when I push the red "on" button after the tv has been off for the night, the red light on the tv will flash as will the screen but the tv will not turn on. Normally when I push the button again it turns on, there are times when even the second push of the button on the remote will not turn the set on, the third time always works.Anyone else having this problem?I added an update below my first post.So far so good, just got it today. I live in WA state and purchased it from a company in California, which I highly recommend ," Video & Audio Center", they sent it the same day I paid for it and I received the set a few days later, I call that SERVICE!!!!This is something you may want to take note of; Amazon is very close to where I live but they were out of stock so I searched for a company as close to me as possible, the one listed on the site was in NY, you do not need to purchase from the company listed you can pick a store with good ratings near you so you get it faster, you just need to contact the company to see if they ship the same day as Video & Audio Center do. I would go with Video & Audio Center unless you find a company closer to you as long as they have the product you are looking for in stock and their policy on "same day shipping" (which means they ship the same day you place your order on Amazon) is listed.I am by no means affiliated with this company nor do I know anyone who works there, I just think credit should be given to those who give exceptional service.I have the set working and connected wireless after a few attempts at being stupid, just took a couple of hours to do everything. Actually, now that I look back on it, it was very easy for me to do, I tend to want to make things harder than they actually are that is why it took me longer than most people.The paper instructions are basically useless but they do tell you how to install the two feet, I suppose it would be called the base, plus how to put the batteries in the controller. You will find once you get the tv plugged in all the instructions are on the tv screen found by using the included basic remote. The instructions are easy to follow and set up is a breeze.The picture is not any better than my 10 year old 1080p Samsung, which went bad after 3 years due blown capacitors and just recently blew again. I could have replaced the capacitors again but there were so many pixel issues that I decided to get this new one. I was so sure the picture would blow me away, even after adjusting all the settings a few times the picture quality is actually not as good as the Samsung prior to the pixel issues, but for under $600 I am very satisfied. 10 years ago the Samsung cost $1400, so I am happy with the purchase.I think the picture quality will improve the more I work on the settings. It will be fun to deal with the various smart functions, I used the wireless feature to hook up my laptop to the tv, for now the only thing I am able to use the laptop for is to see photos from my picture folder on the tv screen, I do not think you can use the Tv as monitor for your laptop while browsing, I could be wrong, I have not been able to figure that out yet.I recommend this tv due to price, size and ease of use, like I said I think the picture quality will get better with a little more controlling of the functions, ie, contrast ect.New update; same nightI watched a netflix movie after my first post and after adjusting some of the visual effects, the picture is remarkable, much better than I had originally posted. So far I am thrilled and look forward to learning more about the "smart" features, which I understand are not as inclusive as some tv's, I mention that above in my first post.I will continue to update this post as I learn more, if you are interested come back for another update at some point.

Great tv. Easy to set up and lots to pick from in apps. Excellent picture and the speakers are pretty good for a flat screen

Muy recomendable producto y entrega excelente aunque era 24Dic. Los vídeos 4k se ven espectaculares y jugar vídeoconsolas (PS, Xbox, Wii) con HDmi es de otro nivel. Al menú de aplicaciones no se le pide nada y puedes mandar tus vídeos de YouTube, Netflix y otros directamente a la televisión desde tus dispositivos Android y iOS sin necesidad de Chromecast u otros dispositivos similares. Puedes rentar además películas en Google Play con tu cuenta de Gmail (algunas gratis) o en Cinepolis Klic sin necesidad de computadora. Tiene muchos y variados modos de vídeo para disfrutar al máximo dependiendo de lo que estés viendo. Lo único malo es que no tiene más que un par de entradas de vídeo estándar, por lo que el inconveniente sería o desconectar uno para conectar otro, o conectarlos vía HDMi.

Las verdad es una excelente opcion en calidad tamaño y preciosi eres una persona que la quiere para jugar videojuego no buisques mas esta tele te la una calidad hermosa en definicion y ademas con los 120hz hace que los movimientos se vean muy fluidos ademas que tienes la avidad de que es smart puedes ver muchos servicios de streaming que ya conosesla verdad una excelente opcion y me llego antes de lo previsto

As a television it's very nice. As a smart TV, it totally sucks. If you want a true smart TV, DO NOT but this one because it's actually quite stupid. I'm so disappointed.Mark
