Tokyo Xanadu - PlayStation Vita

It runs on the Trails of Cold steel engine and has that same Falcom charm. Action RPG combat was surprisingly good and the ending actually made me tear up a bit. I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem!

Haven't beaten the game but already love it with the first few hours in. Ignore the hate reviews about the game being a huge rip off of persona, typical highschool setting, or dated graphics around the internet. If you love jrpgs and loved the cold steel games then you'll feel right at home with this game. Its a mix of Cold Steel/Ys/and Persona. Other than that; the story, characters, and gameplay are great so far. Another great Falcom game we get to enjoy in the west! May update in the future for a full review.So far...Story- Set in the modern world in a city. Interesting but kinda typical parellal world, highschoolers saving the world story...but is done well and keeps you interested. Also voice acting in main scenes (Japanese voices only).Gameplay- ARPG style. Feels good, fast paced action combat with jumping, dodging, and close and ranged attacks. Free city and other unique location explorations. Side quests. Bond events. And more Ill need to discover.Graphics- Its a falcom game so it may look outdated and ps2 like for many but I really like it, especially the character arts. Looks improved from their previous works (Cold steel games, etc)Characters- Interesting and unique characters. Main cast look great and will have backgrounds/character developments. Tons of NPCs (schoolmates/supporters/extras) that have interesting dialogues and stories and they are updated as the story progresses.Technical side- Performs really well at 30fps even in combat. Just small unnoticeable framedrops here and there but nothing bad. Loading times are fast for most places, around 10 or so seconds for bigger maps with more npcs.

It is a good game, the battles are full of variety and differing difficulties. The graphics are really good and the music, though lacluster at times, really suits the game. The only real down side is the MC is plain and boring, also the bond events are pointless without any real effort put into feeling "connected" to the characters.

Juego aceptable, el combate es muy bueno, le metieron una parte social tipo los juegos de Persona que es bastante mala, el juego tiene mas partes sociales que de combate, carga mucho en estas escenas sociales y se vuelve aburrido por ratos hasta el siguiente calabozo.

I like this RPG it's fun I enjoy it.
