I bought it because it advertises pass-through charging. On full charge it barely produces 4.75V, much less while pass-through charging. After deciding that the unit wasn't going to work for me, I tore it down and tested the battery capacity. Maybe this helps. The battery that's inside is an 18650, it's the green colored one on the right. The measured capacity was 2076mAh with a Foxnovo F-2, so it's fairly close to the stated capacity.

Supports pass-through charging, not many do!
Most battery packs don't support pass-through charging, i.e. you plug it into the wall to charge it, then you have to disconnect from the wall, and it can discharge the battery to charge your phone. Had to return an Anker for this reason, I had just assumed all battery packs would do this and didn't read the fine print before ordering, but actually MOST brands don't; Patriot of one of only 2 brands that I could find that offer it (I think limefuel does too?). So, without pass-through you need two 5V wall adapters, with a cable running to each to charge the battery pack and your phone at the same time, which just seems inefficient, when the extra pass-through circuitry involved really shouldn't add much cost to the device. There are a lot of good battery packs, but I went with Patriot because they included this feature.Importantly, all FUEL+ models will take up to a 2.5 A input, so if you use a iPad wall plug , you can charge your battery pack while still charging your phone at the full 1A, which is huge if you drained both your phone and FUEL+ on your first flight watching movies, and the next flight takes off in 20 minutes...The 3000 mAh model is tinier than expected- my wife even fit it in a clutch. It's surprisingly light, and charges an iphone fast. It comes with a nice short microUSB cable- I bought a "Hamee MFi Certified Lightning to microUSB Coversion Adapter" on this site to pop onto the end as we switch back and forth between Android and Apple products and Apple's shortest lightning cable is 12" long and this way I don't have to carry both a USB and a lightning cable, just a single microUSB cable, and the Lightning adapter.I'm planning on buying a larger model to keep in my bag- the 3000 mAh model only outputs 1A, but an iPhone 6 and most flagship Androids can draw more than that, so getting a larger model with a 2.5A output (6000 mAh models and up) will charge tablets, but also charge your phone faster. But I bought this one because it is tiny, and can still give an iPhone 6 a full charge, and it works great if that's what you're looking for, and it's nice and small so it isn't in the way if you need to charge your phone on the couch. But for traveling, I'd buy the 9000 mAh FUEL+.One potential downside you should be aware of is that while it is plugged into the wall, the four blue LEDs that indicate charge level light up, and all four stay lit when it is fully charged, and since it's white plastic, half of the body glows pretty brightly, so if you were planing on leaving it on a nightstand, it'd be problematic. If you disconnect from the wall, the lights go off.

I would buy it again.
I bought this 3 years ago in May, 2014. It's still recharges & charges very well, as well as holds a charge with minimal loss over time. I use it on cell phones & assorted Kindle Fires, sometimes simultaneously. Occasionally, I use it to boost a laptop, or recharge my T-Slim insulin pump. 4 stars because: When charging a phone & a Kindle Fire simultaneously, or pass-through charging; one needs to check after a reasonable interval to see when near a full charge. As the 1 Amp doesn't shut down at 100% when the 2.5 Amp item isn't yet fully charged. And, when pass-through charging, it just keeps charging anything plugged in. As a result, I only recharge my T-Slim by itself through the 1Amp USB port. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it.

so far so good, i took this on a 10 day trip to asia. i had a 22 hours layover and this kept me away from a socket for 3 days. i was able to recharge my note 4 twice before depleting it. i thought i would get more, but it isn't a killer.i kinda wish it had a small night light. but again, that is just a want, not a need.i like the size, most of the other battery packs are very thin and long. this is like a thick box of cigs.i made it through TSA at los angeles, taiwan TPE, and shenzhen China locations. with out any problems.aspects i like, pass through charging, things i would like improved. efficiency, got only 2 full charges on my note 4------------------------------update:i have been getting about 2 full charges lately before getting to the last indicator. i feel like the top charge is getting lower. so i dropped 1 star.confirmed, i have taken this through international security with out any problems. LAX, ICN, HKG, TPE, SXZ... NO problems, you need to carry it on! i wish it had a mini led... but yea... not a deal breaker. i am afraid the battery capacity is dropping. i went from charging almost 4 times on my note 4 to 2 full charges before getting to the last led. may be i can get 3? but i do notice a lower capacity already.

Read the instructions
Got this & got it charged up and headed out. When I went to use it - nothing. Not happy!! Who knew you had to turn the thing on!Once I knew how to use it, I found it worked great. No big bells & whistles - just power.Update 7/25/2015: Started having a problem getting this to charge anything so looked up my purchase and see that I have a 2 year warranty on this. Sent them an email this afternoon to get the warranty replacement/repair started. Hope they don't let me down. I travel a lot for my part-time job and use this just about every day to keep my phone charged and have used it for my Tom-Tom too. I have other portable chargers but this is my go-to one and I want it working!!!! Will update with how the warranty works - or doesn't.**** UPDATE 9/1/2015 - Just got a brand new one in the mail today. No note or anything but a new (in packaging even) 9000mAh charger and it's a cute blue. Okay - I'm a female so cut me some slack. Did discover that you need to stay current with them with emailing or they will close the case until you get back to them. Makes sense to me and mine got closed & reopened with no problem.
