So it should stay right in the boiling flask or wherever in the line you decide to put it and not wind up in your distillate. Good luck! **Q: Is this an appropriate charcoal for making my own coffeepot water filters?** A: My guess is that it would work. It is just activated carbon, pretty much the same stuff that is in a Brittany type filter. **Q: Is this wood, stone, or coconut carbon?** A: stone **Q: How do I use this?** A: This is used as replacement filtering charcoal in a purifying device that is available.
