It even has the same fixing lug sticking out from the base to enable one to bolt it down securely. The fan suddenly lost speed and buzzed quite loudly, a classic sign of a phase missing on a three phase motor, and that is what this capacitor does, it converts two wire mains into a pseudo three wire "three phase" for the motor. The old capacitor lasted ten years, hopefully this replacement should last the same, but I did buy two, just in case. I used some new Insulated Crimp Terminals identical to the originals to replace them after un-crimping them. This repair will then have the same standard of safety as originally manufactured.
