The car is fun to drive and faster than I expected it to be. It comes with a battery pack that lasts about 15 minutes. (The way I drive anyways). I ordered a lithium pack and charger to convert the car to lithium so it would run longer and have a charge port directly on the car.The car lost a star for two reasons:1. The battery charger broke after the 6th use. (Not a big deal to me cause I'm upgrading) The wire going to the connector that plugs into the battery broke off the connector. There was no strain releif.2. You have to take the cover off the car to charge the battery. IMO, you should be able to just plug the car in and charge it. I intend to fix this when I convert it to lithium.

This is not your Toy Store RC Car
I was tired of buying those $50-60 RC cars from the Toy stores that were either Infrared, line of site, or just plain slow. This was a present for my son's 6th birthday, yeah, I know he's a little young, but for what I spent, I'm okay. So the car comes almost ready to go, you have to charge the included battery pack, and get 4 double A for the controller. Read the directions, you'll need to bind the controller to the car before each use, and you need to do this in a specific order. The directions go into some serious detail about how to charge the battery pack, and not to charge it indoors, unattended, and charge with the battery in a fire proof container. Kind of nuts if you ask me, but I'll make sure to not charge unattended, and so far so good. The car, it's fast between 15 and 20 MPH, I'd estimate with the included battery. I can't get the trim set for the steering, so its hard for my son to keep it in a straight line. From what I read, I may need to do some adjustment to the car's alignment system, noticed the back wheels are toed inward, but from what I read that's by design, ok, so the car is complex, no problem, that's what I wanted, a real RC car, one that was affordable, and upgradeable, project that I can do with my son. I've ran through the included battery pack 4 times, and I would say I've gotten anywhere from 10-15 minutes of run time. so a second battery is must, I'm going to get a 5000MA, should give it a little more speed, and about 20-25 minutes or run time. Can't comment on the overall durability, but I've noticed the from bumper is almost flush with the front wheels so any front impact is going to affect the wheels, swing arm, tie rods and other parts, if something breaks, you have a parts list with pictures include, so anything can be fixed, you could buy the entire car from the parts store if you wanted to, but it would cost your a fortune. There are other intro RC cars, with a brush motor in the $140-150 range, but I wasn't able to determine what I was getting for the extra coin, better controller maybe, I'm not sure. Overall I'm very happy with car, and would recommend for anyone wanting something a few levels up from a toy store, but still doesn't break the bank.If I were going to get this for an older child say 12-14, with more experience with RC car's, I might have sprung for the model with the brushless motor, only because it's cheaper to start out that way, upgrading will require a brushless motor, brushless type ESC, and the kit it's self is $100, or another $80 for the car already with brushless motor, But this will be great for my son, and should last a few year's before we get the itch for more speed.Feb 10 Update-Seems after writing the review, I noticed that one of the front shocks was bent as well as the drive shaft on the left wheel, of course there were 2-3 head on collusions with the curb the first day out. No problem, I ordered spare's, plus a new 5000 MA battery. Took the kids's up to their school, and the new battery is great lots of power, lost track of how long it lasted, but was a good 20-25 minutes. Put in the original battery for a little more fun in the parking lot, and the kids nailed the curb about 4 more times at highs spend, you have a huge parking lot and they still find the curb. Busted the front R hub carrier, so ordered the aluminum upgrades, Note-you can buy lots of parts very cheap on flea bay, but they ship direct from china, expect about 3-4 week lead time, I suggest you go ahead and place an order for spare parts for the front hub and wish bone assembly. While looking a the part's booklet I noticed that the 3600ma was the max power recommendation for the ESC, I don't recall seeing this in the owners manual/instruction guide, so be warned. As I mentioned in my original review, the car would not track a straight line, you can clearly see the front right tire was towed outward, I plan to fine tune the steering when I get the replacement parts put on, as it's really annoying, but again, an easy fix.

Good value but not top quality.
Gave this car to my son for Christmas. It's pretty fast in its unmodified form and we run it pretty hard through all kinds of terrain. Only reservation? I wish it was a bit tougher... So far I've straightened the front aluminum shock mount numerous times and had to replace a broken shock. The shocks were cheap to replace so really no biggie considering how hard we run the car. The bent shock mount happens when the car lands upside down (say after a misguided jump). It lands directly on the shock mount which sticks up in front. Wish there was an after market guard you could attach. All in all this car is a good value. Not high-end cost or quality but good enough for a lot of fun especially of you don't mind a minor repairs.

great buggy
Great car for a beginner to start off with. For $120 you get a hobby grade buggy that is good for bashing and fun on a track. It has enough speed to start out with and can be upgraded, and it's pretty durable. I've slammed it into walls, rocks, and crashed it over and over and it keeps going. The bad thing is there's no parts support at the local hobby store.

Great car for the price- go brushless if you can afford to
I have taken this car out 6 times or so by now. It is a great car for the money. It is pretty fast and I really like it's low center of gravity. I used to have a Traxxas Rustler that would flip if I turned sharp. This thing simply slides. The original battery only lasted about 8-10mins, so I upgraded to a Tenergy 380ma, which lasts substantially longer. Using the stock charger, this battery takes about 5 hours to charge. I would upgrade chargers but I don't want to spend the money right now. One recommendation I would have it to go ahead and buy the brushless if you are over the age of 13 or so. Being an adult, I am already wishing the car was faster and have looked at upgrading it. That being said, this is a great beginner car because the parts seem sturdier than the speed of it. I have hit some trees andetal benches going about full speed and have not encountered any damage to the car.

Great car
The car is a great starter to the hobby. Has OK speed and easy to work on. Only problem is upgraded parts for this car are hard to find. I mean as far as online shopping wise but in your local store I wouldn't know.

good buggy for the money
The media could not be loaded. This buggy is pretty fun. I bash it really hard and only some minor fixes, loose or missing screws. The track that I race on is extremely rough. I waited a couple of months before writing this review. There are alot of upgradable parts. You can use Redcat,HPI,or HSP for replacement or upgrade parts. The video footage is one video from YT if you want to search for more.
