Coastal Living Beach House Happy: The Joy of Living by the Water Hardcover – April 21, 2015

Wow! What a perfect name for this book - when I ended it--I felt like I had had a glass of wine and a great dinner by the water with good friends. What could be better? This book has ALL different types of beach houses to suit every taste. (which makes sense - not everything is going to appeal to all types. Potato, pototo.) I would say four or five of them had me GASPING at the beautiful pictures, and the magical nature scenes, and a couple were like, "That's just okay." But all of the stories made you feel good. And yes......happy! Now I'm really inspired for my own (future) beach house!!!!

This book is everything I had hoped for. I love being near the water and flipping through this book gives me all the feels. The photos are amazing. The size is just perfect for a coffee table book in my opinion. If you want to getaway while sitting in the comfort of your living room, this is a great way to do it. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Beach House Happy couldn't be more aptly named! The photos are beautiful and the stories are interesting and engaging. There's a reason people drawn to living by the water. If you don't understand and haven't felt that way before please buy this book and give it a read. Or if you must, stop by my place and I'll lend you it. Yes, it's that important. I'll be buying a few more for friends and family and I know they'll love it just as much as I do!

It’s a nice hard cover book for your coffee table. I only feel it needs more pictures showing facade and beach, how they come together. They have a lot of interior design images which are nice, but I wanted to see the ocean vs house element more.

Beach House Happy gave me so many great ideas! The book itself is beautiful (well-bound, nice paper), the photographs are stunning, and the stories are lovely. The author does a nice job explaining how you can bring that happy, coastal vibe to any home.And you don't have to own a beach house to love it - I'd give it as a gift to any beach-lover, period.In short: An inspiring, relaxing read. 5 stars!

I purchased this book after seeing on a picture someone's coffee table on Instagram (how's that for social media influence). The book is a great size and full of amazing photos that make you pine for the beach. I highly recommend this book for anyone with beach decor and that also has a love of decorating and for books too!!

Bought this at Costco on a lark. Once I looked at it at home and saw all the inspiring ideas, I was super glad I purchased it. Then my sister-in-law, who is a decorator, came to visit and fell in love with the book. I went back to Costco to get her a copy and they were sold out. So I gave her my copy and ordered a new one from Amazon. It is on my coffee table and I love looking at it. And my sister-in-law is already gathering rocks to paint and recreating one of the wall sculptures. This book is a winner!

Die Haptik und Qualität des Buches ist sehr gut!Wenn man ein Fan von Häusern in Amerika ist, die dann noch an einem Gewässer stehen, kann man dem Buch sicherlich einges Abgewinnen.Wir haben sehr viele Bücher die sich mit Häusern am Meer und einem "Beachstyle" befassen. Wobei sicherlich jeder etwas anderes unter "Beachstyle" versteht.Die vorgestellten Häuser sind sicherlich schön, jedes auf seine Art. Nur könnten viele davon auch irgendwo in Amerika stehen und haben keinen Bezug zum Meer; nur weil eventuell an der Wand eine Muschel oder ein Seestern hängt, macht es noch keinen Beachstyle aus.Wir kennen aus anderen Büchern durchaus auch Häuser in Amerika, die das Prädikat "Beachstyle" verdienen.

Being a big fan and subscriber of Coastal Living magazine for a few years now, I was thrilled when this book came out from Antonia Van Der Meer. It captures everything I love about the beach and being near the water, nice addition to my other coastal books. Love the title...it says it all for me.
