What chemical is used to make them "stain resistant"?** A: The ones we bought are made of "microfiber." But that's just a generic term: it simply means a very fine--small diameter--synthetic thread, finer than a strand of silk (which itself is very fine). The basic purpose of using microfibers is that they are very soft and, well, silky. Polyester, Nylon and Kevlar are all used to make microfibers. I remember something in the packaging mentioning "birch," as in the tree, being the source of the material. If that's the case then the microfibers would be cellulosic: Rayon or Viscose, which are soft and luxurious by nature. The fabric could also be a blend, say incorporating polyester microfibers for strength. Regardless, all of these fibers are reasonably stain resistant so I don't believe there is a separate treatment for that. And they're all hypoallergenic. But remember, I'm only guessing as to the chemistry of the actual thread. **Q: Do these sheets smell bad after awhile? I ask because they are microfiber and should absorb moisture (i.e. sweat).** A: There are some really snarky answers on here to a very legitimate question. Sorry about that. First, these are the softest sheets I have ever had and I own two sets because I never want to be without them. I’m planning to purchase another set just for travel as we travel frequently and some hotels have scratchy bedding. Yes, I have noticed these do absorb odors and normal washing doesn’t seem to do the job. I wash mine in vinegar and hot water and that works great. **Q: How deep is the queen fitted sheet? Also, are there pillow cases that matc?** A: Deborah, are you measuring from the top of the mattress or from where your present sheet starts ? I am trying to buy sheets online and I looked at the fitted sheet on my Queen bed tonight and I measured from the very top of the mattress to where it goes down and tucks under and my friend said I should measure from where my present sheet's seam starts. Then I realized that I didn't need a 16" deep pocket - I hope! **Q: do these sheets sleep cool?** A: Of course, they are super thin! In no time at all you will have nothing but holes covering you. You will be nice and cool then! True! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best sheets ever! *by K***Y on September 3, 2026* I love these sheets! I use to only buy percale, but since I have found these, I have been replacing all my sheets! They are soft and cool in the summer, cozy in the fall and winte! They wash and wear wonderfully! They do not pill. They do not wrinkle. they have deep pockets and I never feel hot when I am laying in them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Sheets *by M***G on September 7, 2026* I love these sheets. Lightweight, soft, I feel hugged in them. Plus they stay on the mattress! We have them in Queen, full and King ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally we BOTH can sleep comfy! *by A***R on May 4, 2026* So for years my boyfriend has always liked “jersey sheets” or “tee shirt” sheets or sheets made of flannel. He says he doesn’t like the feeling of cold “silky” feeling sheets as he’s always cold. I’m opposite and am always hot, and anytime we stayed in a nice hotel I looked forward to being able to sleep on cooler, taught, soft sheets for a couple of nights. I was able to deal with our old sheets but the issue we both hated was after awhile any sheet we got would get pilling. We even splurged and got a $60 flannel sheet which did the same thing forcing me to shave off these little annoying fuzz balls that make it feels like there is thousands of crumbs on the sheets. I also would wash our bedding once a week because the Jersey sheets seemed to “grow” as we move around in bed making it so the sheet was not taught and super annoying to lay on. The day I would wash them they would be comfortable but ultimately by the end of the week they would be almost hanging off our mattress. I ordered these sheets on a whim and got them the same day and immediately just threw out the jersey sheet and put this on (I didn’t even wash it, I know it’s gross but I was desperate for a comfy nights sleep and they came around 8pm) when I put them on I realized how soft and comfortable they felt. I also liked how the pillow cases are larger than most pillow cases that I have had in the past. We’ve been using these sheets for about a week and I love how I don’t wake up with my pillow popping out of the case anymore. The sheets have loosed ever so slightly since a week of sleeping but still are really taught and comfortable. They are cooler than flannel or fabric sheets and are initially cold when you first lay on them but I wouldn’t consider them “cooling” but they keep me from feeing extremely hot. They are way better than I ever would have expected for the price. I look forward to laying on them at the end of each day, even my boyfriend laid in bed the day I got them and said “wow I didn’t think I would like sheets like this, these are so soft!” And fell asleep immediately. We ended up ordering a second set in grey and the color is pretty. I still have yet to wash them, I usually use 2 tide pods when washing the bedding but I might get some fabric softener (as I hear it helps with pilling) to prevent the possibility of having that happen to these sheets in the future. I am hoping they hold up well after the wash and longer use. If they start to pill after wash, I will come back and update my review. Until then, I would highly recommend these sheets for the quality and the price point that they are offered at. Honestly, at this point even if they pill months from now I probably wouldn’t even be upset as long as they stay the same price I would just buy another set as they are just that comfortable and soft. UPDATE: So it has been about 3 months since I have purchase and used these sheets. They are still as soft as the day I first put them on. I’ve been washing them bi-weekly along with my comforter and pillowcases. I wash them with warm water using a combination of tide pods and added Downy fabric softener. They say to hang dry them in the description but I have been putting them in the dryer on medium and have been taking them out after around 20-25 minutes, they seem to dry extremely quickly. They have yet to have absolutely any pilling and also have not shrunk or stretched. Also I have a cat that is very active and also sleeps with me who enjoys kneading on my bed and I haven’t even noticed any signs of wear what so ever to the eye or to the feel. I highly recommend these sheets. I still have yet to even open the second set I purchased! ## Frequently Bought Together - Mellanni Queen Sheets Set - 4 PC Iconic Collection Bedding - Hotel Luxury, Extra Soft, Cooling Bed Sheets - Wrinkle, Fade, Stain Resistant (Queen, Gray) - Mellanni Pillow Cases - Luxury, Extra Soft, Cooling Pillow Covers - 2 PC Iconic Collection Pillowcases - Envelope Closure (Standard/Queen 20" x 30", Gray) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sc/products/14371912-mellanni-iconic-4-piece-bed-sheet-set-16-deep-pocket](https://www.desertcart.sc/products/14371912-mellanni-iconic-4-piece-bed-sheet-set-16-deep-pocket) --- *Product available on Desertcart Seychelles* *Store origin: SC* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
