The ice is almost as smooth as cream. 1 large potato (cooked) cut into 4ths, 6 inches of leek (remove outter layer, white and light green only), 1 cup vegie broth, 1/4 cup whole milk or heavy cream, dash of thyme, sage, parsley. (this would not be the case with the regular 4-sided) **Q: I have the Ninja blender and when I try to make a green smoothie, it is very pulpy and hard to drink. Does this make it an actual smoothie or leave pulp?** A: i purchased a ninja, the thousand watt six blades version. it had all the trimmings. and the smoothies were not smooth, had to choke them down and spit out bits of kale and spinach. i honestly gave it away. i purchased a few others since then because i didnt want to afford a blendtec or a vitamix. i was unhappy with blenders for a few years trying different ones. found the blendtec factory refurbished for $220. i am insanely happy with the performance. i can puree soups, like bean soups. kale, whole apples, spinach, it all breaks down. has various settings, including a one-touch button for smoothies. i even roast veggies and then completely emulsify them into a puree for making pasta noodles. i made lasagna noodles last night with yellow bell peppers and carrots. this appliance is pretty fantastic. i would give up my kitchenaid stand mixer for an oster before i went back to a shoddy blender over this one. **Q: I'm having trouble blending frozen fruit, I have to add a lot of juice/water to keep the blender going. Is this normal?** A: I have the Vitamix Turbo Blend 2-Speed and you don't have to add any water at all. Just use the tamper and smash that frozen stuff into the blades and it makes the best frozen dessert in the world! My favorite is a bag of frozen strawberries from the dollar store, 3 frozen bananas and a tablespoon of sugar. Tastes amazing! **Q: For seasoned users: How do you stabilize the machine so it does not 'walk' while using and/or tip over? Mine 'walks' even on pulse setting.** A: In terms of stability, I find that the Wildside jar is less stable than the regular FourSide jar. If you look at some of the demonstrations, the FourSide jar does not shake as much probably because it does not have the fifth side to allow air in (hence, WildSide has the rrrr rrrr rrrr sound instead of a constant rrrrrrrrr noise like the FourSide) That "pulsing" of noise/liquid would shake the WildSide jar. Also check to see if you are on a stable and level surface.
