I was able to adjust the length by cutting with a pair of kitchen shears. My pup is prone to run while on the leash at times and I worry she will not be visible to vehicles during erratic movement in the parking lot of our apartment (the only place we have to walk) The light is bright and has multiple functions (slow blink, fast blink, solid) which you cycle through by pressing a button repeatedly. As an epileptic, I'm grateful for green since blue and red are triggering to me but I wish the solid light was the first button press, and not the last.
