It can stand up to water. The only thing is it is very sticky. I have and adhesive and latex allergy is a pain, because I have a dressing. My daughter had a minor surgery and her doctor recommended using this and actually gave us some at doctor office, but told us to get online to look for it as the pharmacy would not have it.
