Q: Does this product do a good job of making whites brighter or getting stains out of clothes as good as bleach?

Yes it will work well but the 40% concentration should be diluted down to 5%. Mix 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water & then use. The acetic acid in distilled white vinegar is so mild that it will not harm washable fabrics; yet is strong enough to dissolve residues (alkalies) left by soaps and detergents. Adding just one-half cup of vinegar to the final rinse will result in brighter, clearer colors.
