I absolutely adore this pen and it is one of my every day writers. However, I wish the finish held onto the metal for longer. I've only had the pen for a month or two and already there are some large chips out of the pewter coloring on the metal. If the pen would have stay nicer looking for longer, it would be 5 stars without a doubt.

Nemosine Fission .8mm
Great pen! I have the .8mm nib and I love the visible width variation with my strokes, the lines are very thick and may be too thick for some people so the .6mm might be a good suggestion too. The pen came with 6 cartridges of black ink, it writes a bit dry on the dry side, but I'm not sure if its the ink or the pen yet since I haven't tried other inks.PROS:very solid and heavy, writes very smoothly, comes with a converter that holds lots of inkCONS:the nib has a little freedom in the fitting so it may move just a little but its not noticeable while writing. It writes a little dry for my taste but that can probably be fixed by flossing the nib.

Three Stars
excellent value, but don't expect high levels of consistency.

Very smooth!
Quick shipping and beautiful pen, the stub nib appears thicker than advertised, but is actually gently rounded at the corners, making for an extremely smooth writing action and a line that is thinner than the nib appears, but around 0.8 mm as advertised. A couple of the included cartridges had burst in my package and were leaking, I think they either froze in the record cold weather we've been having, or more likely burst due to the pressure difference at Colorado altitude, as I've had this happen when bringing cartridges back from England in my checked luggage. However, It was easy to rinse off the pen and as I have literally hundreds of international cartridges in stock, losing 2 did not matter one bit. I have a large collection of fountain pens ranging from Mont Blanc to cheap student pens, and I think this will become one of my favourites.

TERRIBLE customer service
After less than a month of ownership, the band around the pen's cap fell off. I contacted the Nemosine company on 4-23-2015, 4-28-2015, and 5-8-2015 at their published email address, [email protected] of today (5-24-2015), I have not even received a courtesy response from them! More than a month ignoring my inquiries is completely unacceptable. I want to love this pen. I bought it for myself as a birthday gift. But with the missing trim piece, it looks awful. Highly disappointed.

Wellbeloved Signing Pen...
In all fairness, I must tell you that I ditched the 08mm calligraphy nib in favor of a broad nib. Having done THAT, I now have a second Fission that I absolutely love (I purchased an extra fine nib model for everyday text writing). With the broad nib, this has become my wellbeloved signing pen. I found the .8mm calligraphy nib to be a tad scratchy & skip quite a bit, but once I replaced THAT, I have a five-star pen for two-star money.

6mm stub nib writes smoothly with nice line variation
.6mm stub nib writes smoothly with nice line variation. I have small-medium sized hands, and while this pen is substantial, it is well balanced and not too long or too heavy. And the pewter finish gives it a most elegant appearance. I rotate my pens around, taking a few different ones each day: this is my new "carry it to work every day" pen.

nice weight, screw-on cap
Solid feel, nice weight, screw-on cap......very reassuring. Steel nib rather unyielding, but flows well enough. Cartridges smaller than I remember. Overall very pleased.
