Unbelievable level of noise
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. It makes an unbelievable amount of noise. I ordered this item because it was "Amazon's Choice". The metal frame was already dented, so I clearly was sent an already returned item. I spent 30 minutes unpacking and setting it up, then I spent almost as much on product support to explain the issue. Now I have to return it. The amount of time and energy is not worth it. Go buy something else.

Nice air conditioner for the price
Nice air conditioner for the price. However, this is definitely for small rooms. I have a small bedroom that this works perfectly for, getting it nice and cool within an hour on the highest setting. I then turn it to setting 5 on low cool and it keeps me comfortable all night. I also bought one of these for my slightly larger studio room and it takes quite a bit longer to cool, so just be aware of your room dimensions in regards to the BTU rating. As well, just a quick tip I've learned. If you leave this off and it rains, then turn it on, it WILL be noisy for a while. At first, I thought this was an issue with malfunctioning drainage, until I read online that modern air conditioners actually store some rainwater and use the fan to fling it across the coils to increase cooling efficiency. Just put it on hi-cool and after an hour of noisy operation, you'll have it back to normal operating noise levels.

This taught me not to believe in the tag 'amazon best seller' anymore.
From what I can tell Warehouse Deals, Inc. resells used trash products like bad used ac units to say it nicely.I recently learned not to believe in the tag 'amazon best seller' anymore. This ac unit is just barely ok.Rattles/buzzes/has a high odd tone like your at the ear doctor on the high cool setting and air direction is horrible, directly at the floor.Spend the extra money for at least 8,000 btu with more options. This model can get the job done for a very very small space but really just a piece of junk to max out on the cool and high settings for a late season month or maybe two then trash. This little ac unit does not deserve any awards. Not the worst for $100 these days but more worth $20 and an apology from the designer.Boo sellers of this! Its junk.

You'll thank yourself, git it!
Awesome little machine, saving me from dying of the jungle-like humidity and heat at night for sleeping. Simple and small, still pretty heavy although I did install it myself. But I'm fairly handy and perform household repairs and the like, so if you're not used to doing this kind of stuff you'll need a helper. Simple controls. Cools my bedroom no problem, fan setting is nice because I don't want to jack up my electric bill toooo much by leaving this thing on a/c setting all night long. I sometimes pre-cool the room on a/c setting then switch it over to fan just before getting into bed. I'll update this review when I get my first electric bill with this thing on it. It doesn't look sexy but a/c units never do. It's small and fairly sleek for what it is. Cord comes out the left bottom of the unit and while it's pretty long I have to unfortunately stretch it across to the opposite wall to reach the outlet and it looks kinda clunky. Hopefully your outlet will be better placed.

Unreliable product and less than stellar customer service
We bought 4 of these for a house that does not have central air conditioning. They worked great the first summer. The next summer, we got them out when it started to get hot and 3 out of the 4 wouldn't run. After looking at the units, it looks like moisture got inside the bearings for the fan motor and the fan would no longer run. I called customer service lines, which were not working, and couldn't get a hold of the right department because it was the weekend before 4th of July (which fell on wednesday). I finally got a hold of the department on Monday, 2 days after the warranty expired and they refused to cover the replacement, even though I tried contacting them previously. This experience and the lack of dependability has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth and I question whether I would ever buy a Frigidaire product again or recommend them to anyone.

Easy install, cools and dehumidifies great
Easy installation. Took all of 5 minutes. As you can see I opted to not use the accordion flaps and instead installed plexiglass next to it. Insulat2d all around with foam and it's good to go.Not too noisy by any means...at least no more noisy than our oscillating fan turned on "high." Got our room not only nice and cool but the dehumidifier is awesome. Absolutely reccomend.

Great little a/c - you can plug it into a thermostat
We bought this for a 9x15 enclosed porch with 10 tall windows and morning sun exposure. This little a/c cools it off nicely in Texas summers. It does not have a thermostat with specific fahrenheit degree readings. The thermostat is a dial with a range of 1 thru 7; 7 being "Maximum Cool". However, we ordered a Lux plug-in thermostat into which you plug the a/c (see photo) [ASIN:B000E7NYY8 Lux WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat]. It works beautifully. You can program the thermostat for day/evening/weekday & weekend settings for specific temperatures. We did not need to buy a support bracket for the outside (see photo). The a/c comes with instructions, a top bar secured with screws that keeps the a/c from falling out of the window, foam strips, screws, and accordion side pieces to fill in the spaces. For extra security, my husband put a narrow piece of wood into the window above the a/c to ensure no one could open the window further from the outside. We love the compact size and plan to remove it during the winter months, so we kept the box for storage. We are very pleased and have had it for 2-1/2 brutal summer months. I will update this review next summer or if my opinion changes, whichever comes first.

Gets the job done
This is about as bare bones an air conditioner you will find. Nothing extra at all. That said, it gets the job done. For my small apartment bedroom, it works fine. It's small, light and relatively quiet.

Impressed by the cooling power!
Really impressed by this air conditioner. Put off installing it since the summer never got hot, but now that we're having a freak heatwave, it's come in handy. I was able to install it by myself (though having someone to help lift it will be needed for some) and see that it will be easy to remove come winter. The best is that even though I have it on the lowest cooling setting, it is cooling down my entire house! Granted, my house is not huge (1000 sq ft), but from being in an upstairs window, the entire house is cooler. The thermostat the other day read 32C outside, 24 inside.

I recommend
This little guy saved our lives this hot hot summer. Installed it in our bedroom and were very thankful every time the temperature was above 23. Easy enough to install. If you have a sliding window like me, use a piece of rigid insulation to gram in the rest of the open window! Boom leave it up all summer.

Good Choice for a Small Room
Great little unit for a good price. Does the job to cool a room about 500 square feet. Reasonably quiet for an air conditioner, and simple to operate. Easy to instal in the window. Recommend also getting the AC Safe AC-080 Universal brace to support it.

Water does not drain
At first the air conditioner was great. As the day moved on the constant flickering of water against the metal became loud. Even though it was on a tilt the water would not drain.
