The new 17-28mm F/2. 8 Di III RXD (Model A046) is a large aperture, ultra wide-angle lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. Model A046 features a filter diameter of 67mm (astonishingly small for a full-frame, large aperture, ultra wide-angle zoom lens) as well as an unprecedented light weight of 14. 8 oz. and diminutive length of 3. 9 in. The compact size provides excellent balance on the small profile mirrorless cameras and is easy to carry. The lens offers a large F/2. 8 aperture throughout the entire zoom range and delivers high-resolution and contrast edge-to-edge. The combination of ultra-wide-angle focal length, large constant F/2. 8 aperture and an MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 7. 5 in. at the wide-angle end encourages richly expressive and creative photography in a multitude of scenarios.

The clarity is on par for what you would expect for the cost of the lens, which I think is decently sharp. I am a professional real estate photographer and this lens is my workhorse. It works great for capturing an entire room, thought I do wish I would gone with a 14mm for a bit more versatility.

I have been using this lens for a couple of years now with my Sony A7IV. I haven't had any issues. The build quality feels solid. The clarity is on par for what you would expect for the cost of the lens, which I think is decently sharp. I am a professional real estate photographer and this lens is my workhorse. It works great for capturing an entire room, thought I do wish I would gone with a 14mm for a bit more versatility.

I got a magnetic CPL filter and swapping it between the two lenses only takes a few seconds. I have used it on a bunch photo projects and the images are fantastic from f2.8 onward. I shoot most of my landscapes between f8 and f11. However, I had a specific project that called for all the images to have very shallow depth of filed. I used this lens at f2.8 and never questioned the quality. The lens delivered with flying colors. I do not do weddings anymore but was asked to do one a few months ago. I brought this lens and my Tamron 28-75 G2 and my 70-180 G1. The lenses performed flawlessly and I got fantastic images out of all three.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of my favorites lens in my camera gear

I love this lens as it's nicely price, light weight and takes colorful sharp images. You can focus up close on objects, I believe as close as 7 1/2 inches. I don't do too much video work, but I going to try it out on a my gimbal. Some people don't like the plastic feel of the lens, but it's well built and I no concerns of the build quality. Eventually I am going to buy the Sony 28-75mm lens and sell my Sony FE 4/24-70 lens.
