Dishwasher Salt
This stuff works great, its the only dishwasher salt that works for my dishwasher that doesn't damage the dishwasher. Only issue is its sometimes out of stock and hard to get.

We can’t really tell if it’s making a difference
This is our first Bosch dishwasher and also our first dishwasher that uses salt. Our household water is in the middle of the hardness scale ― not soft, but also not really hard. We’ve run our dishwasher a few times using this salt and we’ve been really pleased with the results. However, after getting our new Bosch dishwasher, we ran it the first two times without any salt and we were pleased with those results, as well. So we’re not really sure about the full impact this salt is having. We’re using it primarily because Bosch and industry reviewers all say it really does help, and it’s a minimal cost to continue using it.

Took a long time
The salt is working well in the dishwasher but took a long time to arrive.

I had NO IDEA I need this. But I did!
We have a new 300-series Bosch dishwasher, and I actually read the manual. It mentioned “dishwasher salt”. What on earth? Well, I am this many years old when I found out that out county’s water is ‘hard-ish’ after checking the water authority’s website and asking a county water official at the county fair expo booths. When I finished with the county official, a woman next to me who had overheard had said she also has a Bosch dishwasher that works well but got water-scaled inside and she had to pay $$$ to have it cleaned.Finish is affiliated with Bosch, so I ordered this and put it in the salt holder in the dishwasher. BOY do the glasses sparkle. Everything sparkles, including the inside of the dishwasher. This bag should last 3 or 4 months, I refill to the top about every month.

Does the Trick
We own a Bosch dishwasher and this is their recommendation for salt for the water softener. Shop carefully as Finish branded salt seems to exact a premium in price. We tried several other brands of salt before actually using this in the Bosch. All have worked just fine. What we have found is there are two types of dishwasher salt... granular and pelletized. Our experience is that the pelletized version seems to get consumed quicker than granular. Our owners manual didn't actually list the softener's salt capacity, but we've found that it holds 2 lbs, and many of these brands sell in a metric weight with the minimal simple conversion being 2.2 lbs for the smallest bag or box. You'll see heavier weights to order, but those are multiple packages of these base sized packages.Somalt brand is pelletized and it seems to be the most readily available and cost effective option. One box is 2.2lbs. So you'll have a little left over in the box after a complete fill. It goes quicker than granular so keep that in mind.We also liked Whirlpool's branded salt and it sells in exact 2 lbs. bags. Check prices as this option in most cases will be more cost effective than Finish, and you'll never know the difference between the results with any of these three options. Other brands just don't seem cost effective, while working equally well. Our strongest recommendation is purchase on price and weight for what you get, rather than brand. Shop through Amazon's many options. Remember also that what you may gain in lower price with Somalt may be offset with its more rapid consumption.
